? for moms of 3+ children - Page 2

Labor with ds1 was about 24 hrs.

Labor with dd was about 40 hrs.

Labor with ds2 was 9 hrs. and the easiest by far, and he was the largest of my 3 children.

Hope that helps, but I think you will find that each woman and each pregnancy is different, so might be hard to predict, though I don't really know.

Maybe you just don't know till you get there!

Joyce in the mts.

My first birth was 8 hours.

My second was 6 hours.

My third (with twins) was 2 1/2 hours!

Each got easier and easier. Actually, with my last two births, I never really got to that far out place of unbearable pain. I felt very conscious and integrated with it.

By the way, weight-wise, my first was my biggest, at 9 pounds, 9 ounces. My second was 5 weeks early and weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces. The twins were bigger than him, 7 pounds 10 ounces and 8 pounds 11 ounces, so the weights didn't seem to have much of a bearing on things!

I think relaxation is the key.

#1 was 4 1/2 hours
#2 (nuchal hand on his forehead that was supposedly keeping him up high) 5 hours, but my easiest by far
#3 just under 2 hours
#4 1 1/2 hour
#5 50 minutes (unattended, NOT FUN, but it all worked out in the end)
#6 3 hours - go figure!
