Nursing covers

I was getting ready to purchase a nursing cover and i noticed there are millions out there. So I was wondering if any moms had recommendations on ones they liked best.  I don't see anything wrong with not using a cover but I know how I am in public and I am thinking it will make it a lot easier on me if I just used a cover. Any suggestions??

Other people might have better suggestions, but I always just used a receiving blanket during the occasional times when I covered. I always had one with me anyway, and I used it for lots of things -- a sunshade when the baby was in a sling, a (tiny!) blanket to sit on at the park, a place to change the baby's diaper, etc. They fold up tiny, so it was easy to stuff one in whatever bag I had, and there were lots of times I was glad to have it for various reasons.

Lots of nursing covers have a wire loop, which makes seeing the baby easier I guess, but it seems like it'd make them bulkier to fold and store (although I have no experience with them, so maybe that's not true).

I've tried a few different nursing covers, some that had the boning(which never really worked that well for me). My experience is that my babies got hot underneath and didn't like nursing under them. Honestly I've had better luck using an oversized very lightweight baby blanket. I would tuck one corner over my shoulder. I splurged for some Aden & Anais swaddling blankets to use this time. They're nice and big and super thin, more breathable than any nursing cover I've owned.

I have a cover that I got at Target, a Cover in Style by Hooter Hider??  I think that's it, awful name, but it's really thin, the wiring for the peek a boo feature is super flexible so it's easy to store, and the corner is terry cloth which makes a great burp cloth in a pinch.

I am thinking about maybe just trying the baby blanket trick. I really want to get some of those Aden and Anais swaddling blankets now! But I don't know if I want to spend that much. They look neat though!

I have a Hooter Hider and they work great, much better than a blanket!

The Bebe Au Lait/Hooter Hider is really handy in the begining. Much easier than I blanket. Good prints. I stopped using a cover after awhile but I like it in the begining when I was figuring things out.

All badly named bf products tend to be great.

I got a nice one from target by The Early Years for $12 - it has a little belt loop thing so you can make the top loose and see baby/baby see you. I actually sort of hate it (lol) but DD doesn't mind it and it certainly covers very well - I use it for occasions like in front of my dad or FIL, who certainly don't want me to leave the room but are a little squirmish about their daughter/DIL's breasts... but pretty much everywhere else (general public) I just use a recieving blanket. I wear a tank and a shirt (so one goes down & one goes up) and DD nursing pretty much covers the breast so I just toss a receiving blanket over her. It's much easier on me and frankly nothing shows anyhow.

I agree about using something more covering in the beginning - while I was still figuring out what exactly I was doing and DD was popping on and off all the time, I really appreciated having the cover. Now I use it a lot less.
