Hi Everyone,

I blog about homeschooling as a UU family. I am currently working through the living traditions with the kids

Sorry for the delay - I must have missed a post notification.

Happy Mother's Day all you UU Mamas!

The sermon at my church today was as much or more impacted by the announcement from last weekend as it was by today's "holiday".  Of course, my minister almost always talks about how Mother's Day started to encourage mothers and all women to work for peace anyway.

Our sermon was on commitment, to each other, to the environment, to our congregation- it was our big financial commitment week. It was a real tear jerker though, as one of the women who share on her experiences with commitment, spoke of her Mother and the sacrifices she made.

I love our church, we now have a part time permanent Pastor, who I adore. I am taking on the Religious Education leader role this fall. It is a big change for me and our church, but a good change. I hope to incorporate a more spirit play approach to the curriculum.

Welcome Imogen and Aeress!

Hmm... I might be a few months too late too Spring! I don't normally dawdle so much.

I started going to the UU church a few months ago, and I've been loving it. I always liked the idea of community and friendship people got from church, and thought it wasn't fair that atheists couldn't have that. I wish I had found out about UU much sooner.

Well I put put myself in charge of bringing our garden back to...growing anything at all. It is in a pretty sad state. Like I said, I think I misplaced Spring somewhere. It is too hot and dry to garden now (severe drought!) but I am busily building things and composting, and when August comes, we will be ready to plant.
