Hello
I saw a tweet about gluten-free baking and decided to come over and introduce myself. I had my first baby in 1990 and read every back issue of Mothering I could order by snail mail. If I hadn't read those magazines our lives would be very different. The health issues we faced from 1990 to 2005 with Asperger's and finally diagnoses of celiac disease would have been overwhelming. We chose to breastfeed despite major difficulties, to do attachment parenting, homeschooling and I even taught natural childbirth classes because of Mothering Mag. I learned to trust my Mama Bear instincts and to be an advocate for my children. They are now 17 and 20 and I am so proud of them and so grateful for those years of being a Mothering subscriber. I decided to come over and join the conversation to support moms who are making the same choices I did 20 years ago and who are still facing the same culture that doesn't value our choices or our children. I am now a gluten-free blogger on my own blog and at the Mother Earth News site and advocate for celiacs and the gluten intolerant. It all began in those months of pregnancy in 1990 when I was reading every page of Mothering. I hope to give back now as my days of mothering change to years of being good friends with these beautiful young adults of mine.

Welcome to Mothering!
