unrestrained kids! I just confronted someone (well, sorta)

So I just saw this big huge van (looked like it was possibly a work van) with a guy (dad?) and 2 kids.. bigger one maybe 4-6 in the front seat, clearly unbuckled and bouncing up and down like crazy, and a toddler on his lap. I was outside with my kids playing and darn near chased him down to rip him a new one :X They parked outside a house right in the neighborhood and I just kinda stared stunned, thinking "I gotta DO something!" I finally got my head together, went into the house, got a piece of paper and a sharpie, "Your child needs to be in a car seat, NOT YOUR LAP!" Then walked over and taped it to the back of the van :/ Yeah, I was too chicken to even walk all the way to the driver's door, but what if they saw me from the window? hide.gif I hope he notices it on the back of the van before driving off again. There were some neighbors outside playing, no one I know/recognized but someone to rat me out as the note-leaver :P They didn't pay any attention to me and I'm sure they don't know where I live, lol.

Why leave a note? If the dad was so inclined to use car seats he would have them. I highly doubt leaving a note is going to get him to start.

could have just been a bad judgement call from someone who thougt it migt not be a big deal if it was a short distance, or whatever. Hoped a note would send a message that people notice, it's a bigger deal than he thinks, and maybe he'd feel a little embarrassed and think again bext time?? Idk. I almost added, ''next time, I call the cops'' but didn't want to come off like, threatening. Just wanted it brief and to the point. Out of state license plate so idk if they're visiting or live here.

I always call my police non-emergency hotline for this and I leave a message about the car and as many details as I can spout off.
