For NB, I have about 40 prefolds, and 6 covers. If that doesn't work well, i'm going to just go with disposable for nb, as they're only that tiny for such a small amount of time-i don't want to invest a lot more for diapers that they'll only wear for a few weeks. (my first was almost 9 lbs, my second was 7.5 lbs but a month early...so I anticipate a slightly larger babe.)
My stash though is, thus far:
40 prefolds (small)
3 bummis whisper wraps (small)
3 thirsty duo wraps (small)
60 flats (27x27) -supposedly usable for many sizes
Still need to get covers for larger sizes
20 doublers. (the maxi pad shaped things)
15 motherease sandy dipes -size 10-20 lb)
4 daddy flats (never used these before, I might make more if they work well. I like the concept.)
We'll see how that goes. If I fall in love with the prefolds at the newborn stage I may get some prefolds over flats for later-or use the flats AS prefolds.
I normally wouldn't have so many, but i've found a lot on kijiji, and was given the huge bag of flats by a friend.
