Need Help with Britax Frontier as Booster

We recently switched our Britax Frontier from the harness to a booster using the car seat belt. It's in a 2005 Toyota Sienna minivan. The problem is that the seat belt does not slide easily in the shoulder belt slot on the Frontier. I have to make sure the belt goes back as far as possible and then pull it all the way out so ds can get it buckled. If that's not done, the seat belt gets caught in the booster belt slot and then locks. It doesn't slide all the way back by itself when taken off. This was supposed to be easier than the harness but it's actually more of a hassle. DS is 7yo. He knows how and can easily operate a seat belt otherwise.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like a booster :|

Really, having a small kid in a booster really does tend to be MORE annoying than a harness.

It sounds like you know exactly what';s going on, and sadly, I dont know of a way to *fix* it except to do what you are doing.

It's very possible that a booster with a different design/belt guide angle would not be catching the belt in that way, but if you have a frontier, you probably arent looking to buy another seat.  A different seating position might help, so that the belt is going through at a different angle, etc.

Ugh! Oh well. Yeah, I'm not going to buy another booster. The Frontier was expensive enough and I would only buy a high-back booster. My 7yo is quite small so I'm not 100% comfortable with him using even the high-back booster. He's only about 47" tall and around 43 lbs., which is just above the minimum requirement for using it as a booster, but he hates using the harness. It makes him feel like a baby. There's no way I could convince him to switch it back to the harness.

I will be moving his booster to the back row in the van in a few months. I'm hoping that the other seat belt won't catch so much. It's in a middle row seat now and the belt comes out of the back of the seat. In the 3rd row, the belt comes from the side of the van. Maybe that will help.

Lots of boosters have this issue. Dd1 first seat was a AO. Just awful. I love the turbo booster, just perfect.

I have the exact same problem.  Our Frontier is in DH's vehicle and it is a giant PITA.  He keeps lobbying for a different seat but I have resisted due to what we paid for the Frontier.
