What food is most likely to cause the allergy ring?

DS2 has the red ring around his anus. I read that it could be allergy related and that citrus is a likely culprit. Are there any other foods that are particularly known to cause it, or can all allergies cause it equally? Also, I read it could be yeast (I don't think it is for him) - are there things other than allergy and yeast that can cause it? Can it just be for no particular reason?

Thanks!

I think it can be any foods.  For my son, dairy and soy do it.  I don't tend to think it's for no reason, I tend to think that the odd stuff is a clue to something being wrong.

Thanks! So when you eliminated dairy and soy it went away? Do you remember how long it took?

DS doesn't react strongly to soy (it takes relatively large amounts to see a reaction, vs some people who react to tiny traces) so I saw improvements within just a couple days, and within a week his bottom was all healed up.

Well, you'd suspect the top allergens. For my son, though, it was citrus. He's IGE allergic (skin prick, hives) to oranges. So if you suspect citrus I'd eliminate and see what happens.
