Which Boy's name do you like the best? Please read first post before voting. Thanks!

DH and I are still on the hunt for a Biblical Boy's name that isn't too popular.

We've considered Isaac, # 40 on the SSA website, Zachariah, #432 and the number 1 name we are considering is Gabriel, a name DH just suggested yesterday, but #22 on SSA. Elijah was #21 in 2009 and although it's close in rank to Gabriel, I think Elijah (thanks to Elijah Wood) is growing in popularity at a much faster rate. I hear of a lot more Elijah's than Gabriel's, although maybe I'm just really out of the loop. Zachariah is also my DH's best friend since middle school, but even so, DH seems married to the name Gabriel. What are your collective thoughts? 

Nicknames will be Eli, Gabe or Zach. Isaac won't have a nickname.

The middle names will be Eric William and the last name is a 2 syllable name that begins with G and doesn't sound too much like any of the names.

I know that everyone has their own opinions, but I just don't place a lot of emphasis on popularity of names. I think if it means something to you, that won't change based on how many other children have the same name. I pay a lot more attention to the meaning of the name and any sentimental value.

Darn I wanted to vote for Elijah!  LOL!  

I personally just love that name the best, and I am also struggling with being in love with a fairly popular name (ours is #19 on the SSA) so I feel your pain. What a tough choice!  Boys names are hard!

Thanks so much to everyone who responded. It looks like Gabriel is currently in the lead, but I think they're all pretty close. Sorry about not putting Elijah in. I feel like such a goober.

I say that you go with what you like best. I never look at popularity polls when choosing names, rather it is about what they mean to us.

If we have a boy this time he will be called Seth Andrew. I love the name Seth, and Andrew is a family name, plus the initials SA is in honor of DH's grandfather who was known by his initials SA.

I think if you like Gabriel, then use Gabriel.

With the middle names you have chosen, i think Gabriel goes best with it.... but i am biased, because i have a Gabriel...
