a positive fluffy thread about care providers

I learned last week that when my 14 month old goes down for a nap at daycare one of the caregivers sits next to him and rubs his back the whole time as he falls asleep... love.gif aww... I'm so thankful that DS is cared for with warmth and attention.

What are you thankful for as a working parent?

I'm thankful that DS's preschool has helped us build a wonderful community in our neighborhood. I love so many of the families in that daycare. Great teachers, but also great kids and great families. It seems like every time we go to the park or to a festival or event, we run into at least one family from his school. DS has a best friend who is a really cool little kid. It's been so neat seeing their friendship bloom. I didn't realize that kids that young could have such close friendships, so that's been especially rewarding. I've actually made some good friends too from the parents.

We have a wonderful nanny who takes care of our children in a really loving way. She is really energetic and playful, is a talented artist in the mediums of doodle, wooden blocks, duplos, play dough, and watercolors, reads to them all the time, gives them a super healthy diet, puts them to sleep gently, and has a daughter our kids love.

I also really love my son's preschool.

Our nanny babywears DS on long walks, takes him to the potty (we do EC), and sometimes when I work at home I have to close my office door during conference calls because she is making him giggle so much. :)

They do that at my DS's daycare too :)  His daycare also has a foster grandparent program and the ladies who volunteer are wonderful.  There is always someone just longing to cuddle the infants and read to the preschoolers.

The woman in charge of the infant room used to wear DS.  The first time I saw this, I admit I was jealous but then I realized I was being silly.  She formula feed her own DD but was absolutely 100% on board with all the moms that provided EBM.

I know how lucky we are to have such a great daycare center for DS.

I adore my girl's school, my older one is school aged but the 4y goes to the little preschool there as well. She gets to grind her own wheat for her snacks, run around bare foot outside, I don't worry about her at all now when I am working. I know she is treated just like the teacher's children. We have a brand new nanny for DS, but so far I've been thrilled. I came home early yesterday and she was walking up and down the stairs with him 50 billion times like he loves to do and I usually refuse to do with him. shy.gif
