unknown antibody while pregnant?

anyone familiar?  I am not pregnant, infact I lost my son at 39 weeks in January.  Every night I lay in bed and replay my entire pregnancy and last night a thought popped into my head that my Dr said my blood test came back with an unknown antibody.  He didn't know what it meant and i forgot all about it till last night.  I ended up doing a google search and found some info with it leading to stillbirth.  Just curious if anyone had something similar to this during their pregnancy.  I am searching desperately for answers.  thanks in advance ladies, you all are so very helpful.

You should go to another doctor and have more testing. Try a reproductive endocrinologist.

I do not know a thing about antibodies, but I couldn't read and not say how sorry I am for your loss.  What a nightmare that is. So so sorry. hug2.gif

I do not know specifics on it, but I had a friend have a child die in utero at 39 weeks from the same thing and a SIL who had to deliver early for the same reason (her son lived).  My heart goes out to you and I hope your healing is fast and preaceful!

I would need more information to help clarify things. Can you go back to your doctor and see the specific blood tests he is referring to? I'm sure he can clarify what antibody he is talking about for you.

I cant really go back to my Dr because I did file a lawsuit against him for the death of my son.  I am not sure what he was referring to.  All I remember was positive for unknown antibody and "don't worry about it I dont know what it means" was pretty much all he stated.  I did have a staph infection at the time.  I do not know if that would make any difference.  I am sure the lawyers and investigators will figure everything out for me, I was just hoping to find some info out on my own to put my head at rest.

Thanks for all the replies.

Let me begin by saying I am so sorry for your loss. I also have a unknown antibody, during

my first pregnancy I had so much blood work done all over In hopes of finding a lab that could possibly identify this "antibody". After finding no answers I was referred to a specialist who told me possible complications but it was hard to predict anything not knowing the antibody. They monitored me thoroughly and suggested a c-section at 39 weeks and we were blessed with a 8lb 3oz perfectly healthy baby girl. Two years later we are thrilled to find out I am pregnant again but my blood work came back the same as last time and I am being referred to the specialist again but I am growing much more concerned, I just don't see how in this day in age there is such thing as an "unknown antibody". I will get a copy of my blood work so I can try and do some research on my own but if you discover any news on your "unknown antibody" please let me know.

I'm so sorry for your loss!  How absolutely heartbreaking :(   I have antiphopholipid antibody syndrome while pregnant and have to be on blood thinners through the pregnancy and the high risk OB's that I see induce at 37 weeks since risk of late term fetal death is so much higher.  Mine they found through blood work.  (((hugs)))
