vomting after nursing

This is my second daughter, and I am beginning to suspect food issues. DD 2, is 12 weeks, and has now vomited after nursing 4 times in the past 4 weeks. She also has reflux, mucusy poop, trouble sleeping during the day, gas and hiccups. However she doesn't cry a lot, so pediatrician says the reflux isn't that bad and this will all be outgrown.

My first DD had mucusy stool, hiccups, reflux and bad gas, but she cried a lot. So I think it's just a personality thing and not an indication of severity. I had oversupply and forceful letdown AND DD had and still has issues with soy at 4 years old.

So I am thinking DD #2 has food issues too? I don't believe I have oversupply this time because DD 2 nurses from both sides. Her poop occasionally has green globs in it, but not to the amount she would if I had oversupply since I nurse from both sides a lot. I removed milk a long time ago, and we don't have a lot of soy, so I have to start removing other things. Has anyone else experienced occasional vomiting as an allergy symptom?

You say you have occasional soy and she has occasional vomiting.... if you take all of it out and it continues, I'd guess gluten next. If she has some symptoms all the time PLUS the vomiting, either the vomiting can be one food that's eaten only occasionally and there's another more common food (like gluten or corn) that she's reacting to all the time, or that it's something common but it gets worse at some points and she vomits. My guess is going to be two different foods (a common and an occasional).

Soy is in the form of soybean oil and lecithin, and I eat occasional processed food with that in it. She has all the symptoms without vomiting a lot, but not all the time. Like last week we had 3 good days. And most of the time she sleeps almost 5-7 hours straight (my first only did 2 hour stretches until she was almost 3!) Last night was a bad night with gas and reflux, and the days before I had a lot of tomato based foods - spaghetti, bbq pork, things like that. I realized I do eat a lot of tomato based products, but not every day, so I was going to try that first, then move on to wheat and/or gluten. The only reason I don't start with that is that I eat wheat or gluten almost everyday and her symptoms are not everyday. I also have chocolate on the list since I have eaten that a lot lately.

I guess it makes me feel better that vomiting could be a possible sign of an allergen, I didn't know if I should be concerned it's something worse. Then I had the off though that maybe I was overfeeding her or it was related somehow to oversupply? But I don't think I have that issue, I have tried block feeding only to have her want to nurse more right after, she acts like she is still hungry, and as often as I nurse both sides, I think she would have more constant green poop.

Green poop caused by oversupply is usually referred to as "frothy", if there's mucous I would definitely suspect a food intolerance. Gluten, dairy, and soy are very common culprits but if you suspect something else than I would start there first. As far as the vomiting, gluten is a very common cause for reflux and also dairy. Hope this helps!
