Looking for Natural Birth Stories

I'm planning a natural hospital birth with a doula at a very natural-birth friendly hospital, yes, they do exist! Anyhow, I need to read some natural birth stories. I've memorized The Birth of Midwifery, so maybe something more modern? My last birth was induced and the epidural-ed.

The "Birth and Beyond" forum here actually has a subforum for birth stories.  You would find LOTS of natural birth stories there.

I know that "Spiritual Midwifery" has a lot of natural birth stories, although they're older.  But I still read that book several times in both of my pregnancies.  If you're looking for newer natural birth stories, "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth" has quite a number of birth stories as well, and they're more modern.

I've had 3 natural hospital births and am about to have a 4th, is there anything specific you'd like to know?

For all of mine, I know that my choice of m/ws was huge in my good outcomes, drugs were never offered and the labor support was great.

I second the birth stories on MDC! My only caution is to read the titles carefully and only click on the ones that sound positive and wonderful, as there are many scary/bad stories mixed in with the happy ones. I choose to not even look at anything that might be upsetting.

There's a book called Adventures in Natural Childbirth that I read during my first pregnancy. It's a compilation of positive stories. I really liked it!

Yes, Spitrual midwifery is the one I was talking about! I've been reading that book since I was a teenager. My aunt's story is in that book. She's a midwife down on the Farm and has always been such an inspiration to me!

Thanks for the recommendations! I look forward to lots of fun reading!

Peggy VIncent's Baby Catcher is another one I have read a few times, it has some natural hospital births in it as well as home births, since she practiced in hospitals during some parts of her career.

I am in awe of Baby Catcher every time I read it. Definately worth reading. Everytime I finish a story I feel lile I walk around glowing and floating for the rest of the day. It's just that inspiring.
