40 and pregnant in Baltimore, MD

I hope to find a midwife or doctor that will not treat me horrible for being 40.

I also do not wish to have ultrasounds or other screenings like GD other than just a plain blood sugar test.

There is a midwife Evelyn. I haven't spoken to her yet.

She takes on a lot of clients from what I could tell from previous research.

I really dread going for prenatal care and being treated like dirt and also that the doctors/midwives will make ultimatums.

I hate it.

Thank you.

I just hope my insurance will cover homebirth.

I made a mistake getting pregnant without saving up for a midwife first.

I think I may back out of this pregnancy altogether.

I would like to find a lay midwife or a direct entry midwife. Maybe they would be more loyal or compassionate

I cannot deal with another jerk attending my birth.

I have had 2 very bad experiences with midwives in Texas.

The hospital for my first was very bad but at least my home birth was bet tr on my last child.

I feel like the only midwives on my insurance might abandon me at some point in my pregnancy or labor.

Or inot even show up.

Orr show up when I am 9 centimeters after telling me I wasn't having enough contractions. My last 2 midwives were rude and complained and I was right all along no it them. No one was looking pout for my interest.

I don't have a good feeling about being trapped with limited options.

I did not go with Evelyn because she is extremely busy and is known for missing births.  But for those that she makes it to, I hear nothing but glowing reviews of her and her skills as a midwife.  She is a CNM, however, which usually means more protocols to follow in terms of prenatal testing.  To have more choice, I would go with a CPM (even though they are illegal there are several around).  I will pm you with some suggestions.

I am so early still.

I am just going to put it out of my minds for a while.

I will just get my blood pressure checked and maybe my blood sugar.

Things are going along good. am 18 weeks now.

I can't afford a midwife and my insurance does cover homebirth but I don't want billing hassles. Pelvic exams. I am certainly not going to sit around in a midwives office all day for appts.

No one else is going to tell me if my contractions are good enough if when my baby is coming. I know these things because it is happening in MY body

I am looking for a Douala who will do UC.

I want someone who has been around along time or attended many births and is laid back.

I don't like things to be over complicated.

I would like a Douala who takes her own health serious and is not neglecting a potentially serious condition. I was going to do a trade with a Douala who needs another birth ( she is just starting)but she has numerous health conditions and was not doing all she could to remedy them. Pernicious anemia is not a joke. She was also terrified of being the next Karen Carr ( bless her heart).

I think I need a real professional who is confident and trusts the birth process.
