Hi everyone! I'm new to the UC forum, but have read posts in the past. We found out about a week and a half ago that we're being blessed with a surprise baby! My cycles had just come back in January, and were between 16-24 days long, getting 4 days longer each cycle. So this would've been a 28 day cycle. Day 33 approached (the length of my cycles pre-babies and the day I always get positive pg tests by), so I tested. Imagine my shock when that second line showed up! My dd3 wasn't a year old yet and she still nurses about 10 times a day!

Anyway, we've had a natural birth in the hospital (with a high risk OB, no less...even though I wasn't high risk...a heart condition I outgrew as a child got me put in the high risk clinic and I was 20 and didn't know until the end of the pregnancy just how full of BS my Dr was), an unintentional UC where the midwife didn't make it (birth was just as I dreamed many many times that pregnancy), and a midwife assisted homebirth with our 1 year old. All were very different (and fast- 6, 4, and 2 hrs, respectively), and even though our UC was the hardest labor (intense, posterior baby, 90 minute transition while baby fought with my pelvis and turned anterior), overall it was the best birth. My husband is very, very supportive of UC, even my midwife said that she thinks we would do better UCing. I've even got a supportive mom!

Hubby and I are going to see our backup Dr from our last HB for prenatal care. Probably just once a trimester. Just as a check-in with him to have care established in case the need to transfer would arise. He's fine backing for UC clients and that way he will get us in after the birth for postpartum care for me and newborn care for baby whenever we want after the birth. He's an awesome, very holistic Dr.

Hoping to be a bit more prepared for this UC than the last one! Thankfully I know a lot more about birth now, and know how to turn a posterior baby and palpate baby's position. I've also got a supportive chiro/acupuncturist to help if baby needs turned.
