Pregnant, history of P.O.S and have epilepsy - light spotting. Wish me luck.

Hi there,

I'm 33 yrs old and this is my first pregnancy.

I had my period last week. It was a little lighter than normal and came a day later than expected, but wasn't late, per se. So, I figured, not pregnant, although I thought I was. Experienced symptoms indicating I was prior to this.

Yesterday, noticed light pink spotting. Not enough to make it into my underwear, but noticeable on toilet paper. It stopped this morning, but last night I did a home pregnancy test and it showed I was pregnant. Previous test back around the 10th March indicated I wasn't - or at least I wasn't showing enough hormone.

So the spotting has started again today and I noticed that I have mild cramping in my lower pelvic region after eating. Not morning sickness, just cramping. Nothing unbearable, but it's enough to say "hello".

I'm guessing that since my period was just a week ago, that chances are, I'm between 4-7 weeks pregnant, given that I've already experienced breast tenderness, achy back and legs (which have all relaxed a bit).

I know I should see a doctor if concerned, but have been reading that while this could be implantation bleeding (I don't think so), that light pink spotting in early pregnancy CAN be normal.

FYI: I have one ovary. Had cancer in 2005 (successfully removed, along with half the factory, but the rest is in working order). History of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome POS, hence the cancer. I'm relieved to know I'm pregnant and not suffering from a recurrence, but like anyone wanting, I am trying to remain calm and just see if the bleeding settles because I know that no one can do anything unless it's ectopic (hope not) or the signs of a miscarriage. I don't eat badly, but am eating more protein and boosting vitamins. I have epilepsy and have gradually been reducing my meds over the last couple of months and will reduce again tonight when due to take (because I don't want to be hurting an embryo).

I'm in a labor type job (used to be an office worker) and I've noticed steady weight loss since not being stuck at a desk. It's fairly even, and I realize I should not expect much in the way of weight gain at this stage and weight loss can be attributed to change in jobs. I'm 130lbs or 59kg (so not underweight and not obese).
