Need help with beer slug trap logistics

I'm hoping a more experienced gardener here can answer my dumb question. :)  I set out a bunch of beer slug traps yesterday, and now there are tons of slugs in them.  Yuck and also hurray!  Now my question is... how and where do I empty them?  My inclination is to just pour them out in the garden, cause I'm lazy like that, but I'm not sure that's a great idea.  Can someone tell me if that's okay, and if not, what I should do?

Thanks for helping me rescue my pour, struggling seedlings!

We have a small hole we drop em into away from the garden and where the kiddo won't trip.

Dump in a hole. I tried to get my hens to eat them.No go. I threw a bunch away in a huge pickle jar as I picked them off my strawberries.

Just wanted to jump back on and say thanks!  The hole method seems to work, and I'm totally amazed that I got the slugs under control through a week of nighttime slug hunts and ongoing beer traps!
