I'm concerned. Not stressed over it but very concerned over what the levels might be in our drinking water and dairy products... from what I've read I think its pretty much everywhere, not just US but Europe too. Not really a matter of IF but rather, HOW much. The lesser the better but ANY amount is not good. This will be with us for months or possibly years to come. Two things to do about this: 1) avoid what you can and 2) detox what you can't avoid. Since the iodine has the shortest half life (8 days but takes 90 days to COMPLETELY decay) and being iodine sufficient is largely protective Im personally much more concerned about the OTHER radioactive particles in the drinking water and food chain (which they arent even testing for by the way) ... cesium, etc. Frankly anything with a half life of 30 years or more scares me.
Check out this article - france has issued its citizens warning them about "consuming rainwater and says vulnerable groups such as children and pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid consuming vegetables with large leaves, fresh milk and creamy cheese." Levels are much higher in the US than over there, so that leaves me to ponder quite a bit.

Another interesting arcticle, what I'd like to see is latest test results from around the country since these levels were several weeks ago and the radiation coming out of the plant since then has only gotten worse

No KI here as we are so far away I didnt see the need, but I have quite a few other natural sources of iodine (sea vegetables) and detoxifiers, avoiding dairy, havent figured out yet what to do about the water so can only assume we're consuming some radioactive particles in our tap and spring water. (I try to get spring when I can but when I run out, we use the tap) Unfortunately, I have no water saved from safer times. would getting a filter even help? suggestions anyone?
ETA: Im on this mailing list too and they have some good info about the current situation as well, link in upper right to join their list.
