Looking for a doula in Eastern CT for a UC

DH and I are doing an UC and are looking to find a doula that has some experience with home births. Since this is our first UC and last, we thought it would be nice to have some labor support from someone who at least knew the ins and outs.

I don't have any recommendations, unfortunately, but I wanted to let you know that you may have a hard time finding a doula to attend a UC.  From what I understand, most doulas who are accredited/certified by a training school (DONA, toLabor, etc.) are not allowed to attend UCs due to liability concerns.  So your best bet would probably be finding an independent doula.

Good luck in your search, mama.  What part of the state are you in?  If you want an empathetic ear, I'd be happy to chat with you... I had one homebirth with CPMs here in CT and one UC (prenatal care with the same CPMs, but they did not make it for the birth- on purpose on my part, I wanted a UC).

I have a reccomendation for ya... she's a dear friend, doula and apprentice midwife with Nancy Farr. She is a HUGE supporter of UC. I'm actually heading to her house tomorrow, so I will run it by her and put you in touch. She is an mdc mama so I can have her pm you.

Hi! I'm in CT and I'm certified through CBI. I'm just had a homebirth 9 weeks ago :) I would love to help you out. Let me know if you are still looking for someone.
