Ds3 is 23.5 months. We followed dr. jay gordon's night weaning plan and have success! The problem is, that he doesn't ever want to have much to drink when I go to bed, which means his last nurse is at 8:30 or 9pm. So, by 5am he's very ready to have a good nurse. I'm happy to do that, but he doesn't stop. The worst part is the picking and the scratching and pulling and the pinching of the other nipple while he nurses.

So, from about 5am I am awake and in pain and desperate to sleep (I am doing my PhD and really, really need brain power). This morning I told him after an hour that "mama milk go night-night" (that's what I said when we night weaned). And he woke the whole house up and bit me scratched my face pretty good and climbed off the bed and wouldn't let me near him except he was out of control screaming and crying, the poor little guy. I finally took him downstairs and got him a snack and a sippy cup of cow's milk and then he was super happy and has had a fabulous morning (no more sleep, though). The things is, the only snack that he would stop crying and eat was those Quaker rice chips... ketchup flavor (yuck!), so not exactly a healthy morning snack. Could be worse, though :)

Clearly he is hungry. I've tried bringing a banana and sippy cup to him in our bed but he refuses. He is very angry. I just can't continue with this pattern. I'm ready to just quit nursing alltogether, but he's our last baby and I'd love to enjoy it a little longer. I'm far from enjoying it now, though. Very, very far.

Any ideas??? Thank you!
