Hi, I don't suggest you buy the drugs from Mexico because I would be concerned that they were fake. I know a lot of people get a script of clomid and are told by their doctors to just try it out and if they don't get pregnant within 3-6 months, to go back and see them. I've been on clomid for three cycles now and I'll be honest...I would want to be followed. My lining got really thin on clomid and therefore, I probably have been having trouble conceiving due to my thin lining. Additionally, if you're hyperresponsive to clomid, which it seems you may be because you had so many eggs the second time, you may want to be followed just to be sure you don't overrespond! Generally, they would follow you through and sonogram and I don't think your PCP has one of those. Good luck!

I bought clomid off the internet from India, no prescription.  I brought it into my RE, and asked him if it was OK to use.  He said it's the first time anyone asked him, and that it would probably be fine.  I know it was active in my system, as I had side-effects.

So, while I wouldn't worry about buying clomid from abroad...but maybe you can ask for minimal monitoring - like a Ultrasound right before, so you know you are not hyper stimulating to a crazy degree....

Are you buying it from a pharmacy in Mexico?  If not, you should research and make sure it's not illegal to purchase it that way.

I have heard many stories from online infertility forums about drugs purchased online.  There's a risk that they're counterfeit.

How much is a round of clomid without insurance?  Is it worth the risk?

If you are seeing a PCP, why can't she monitor you?

(I took clomid for 2 years without monitoring.  I became very ill from it.  It has damaged me for the rest of my life.)

I have a Rx for Clomid from my OB and I'm not going to be followed. I'm comfortable with that. I'm not doing an IUI, just clomid 50mg cd 3-7. I'm also working with my Naturalpath on natural ways to increase my lining and cervial fluid. I took FertileCM this cycle before I take the Clomid to see if the supplement worked, and OH MAN it worked to increase cervical fluid!! It is also supposed to help with the lining and libido. ;)

If you have a script why are you sending away for it? Clomid is only like $7 at Walmart for anyone who walks in with a script. It's like $20 at Walgreens.

I was on clomid 50mg for 5 months unmonitored (had a prescription) and nothing. I just got another one from my RE for 50mg also and it has at least 3 refills and it will also be unmonitored. I can call him if I'm worried etc but I would have to pay for the office visits so I think they just let it go unless you have really good insurance. No one wants to go bankrupt on just clomid.

I think it would be different if you were 18 trying for quads and had no idea that taking clomid longer than 6 times in a row could be detrimental to your uterus and not help. If you've been there/done that and have support and do your research I don't think it's a big deal.

Can you tell me what pharmacy you used?  I am in a similar situation.  My previous child was conceived on clomid after 3 cycles (Born 1/28/09).  My insurance has changed, and my new doctors will not prescribe Clomid without me paying for the RE 100% out of pocket, which I can not afford.  My previous dr prescribed it, and did not monitor, and everything turned out great.  Please let me know.  Thanks.
