Articles about CranioSacral Therapy and bf for reluctant doctor?

I recently learned about CST and decided it's worth a try for DD. My chiropractor does it (yay!) but our insurance requires a referral from DD's doctor. I called and I was told by the receptionist that I would have to come in and that he generally does not refer out to chiropractors. I'm going in tomorrow (I figure I might as well try). I'd like to present him with some information. I've found a couple articles but I'd like to find one by a source that he might find more credible (non-chiropractor doctor). I'll probably bring one good article with highlighted points and then possibly a few short bits from other articles on a page.

Worse comes to worse and I'll have to find another doctor who will do the referral.

TIA!

I don't have any articles for you - but I can give some insight into why your doc may not usually refer to chiros, and perhaps how to get around that.

Many docs are wary of adult cervical spine adjustment because of the (small) risk of stroke. Making sure your doc understands that no harsh cervical manipulation will happen, and the force used on the skull is no more than the pressure you would put on your eyeball, or the weight of a quarter coin. That assurance, combined with a case report or two may sway him.

Have you seen this article? There may be some useful references here. http://www.llli.org/llleaderweb/lv/lvaugsep01p82.html

Good Luck!

Thanks, Patio! I definitely made sure he knew that there was no "cracking" of any kind to be done. lol I did give him the article you mentioned with specific points highlighted and I also put together a few abstracts along with a couple quotes from another article. He agreed that since it seemed pretty harmless that he'd give me the referral, YAY!!!! joy.gif We agreed that, if nothing else, she'd get to spend time with a sweet lady. I can't wait to take her in, I'm REALLY hoping that it will help!!! She's gaining enough but my poor nipples still hurt and I can deal with it for the rest of our nursing relationship if I must but obviously I don't want to.
