Vitex with progesterone suppositories?

Thread Starter

I am four weeks pregnant and my OB just put me on 100 mg progesterone suppositories without testing my progesterone due to a history of seemingly low progesterone.  I took Vitex with my first and now this pregnancy but I am wondering do I need to stop the Vitex now that I am on prescription progesterone?  Does anyone have a feeling which is more effective?  Also, I have been taking B100 complex for LPD.  Should that be stopped?   TIA!

I am currently in the same situation and was wondering what you ended up finding out?

If you had  previous pregnancy with low progestrone it means your body is not going to produce it naturally and you will have to supplement it for the first twelve weeks. I am pregnamt with my fourth child and I have had to take prometirum with each one.

I am 5W pregnant with my 6th pregnancy (2 children and 3 miscarriages).  I also have low progesterone which was the reason behind my miscarriages.  I take prometrium for the first 12 weeks as well and have two beautiful boys as a result!  I'm not certain about the Vitex as I have never used anything but prometrium and low dose asprin during my pregnancies....I would suggest speaking with your OB or midwife or whomever is monitoring your pregnancy.  Best of luck!
