Potty training and SN

My 4 year old son is globally developmentally delayed.  He recently started showing interest in peeing in the potty recently, but for the last few days he seems to have regressed.  Now it's hard to even get him to sit on the potty, let alone pee in it.  He is strong-willed.  The rewards systems don't seem to work with him.  Since he was a baby, he could care less if his diaper was wet or poopy.  He doesn't show signs that he's wet or wants to pee, but it's very obvious when he wants to poop now that he's older.  He will go to a room in the house and shut the door for privacy and then poop in his diaper.. it is absolutely impossible to get him to sit on the potty for a BM before he does this.  Sigh.. I would be happy if he could at least pee in the potty during the day.  Any suggestions for me?

If you have an iPhone/iPad or something similar, he might get distracted by certain games long enough to get comfy on the potty.  I know this worked for us.
