button quail questions

I may have an opportunity to adopt a few button quail.  I was wondering if I would be able to keep them outside this summer.  I would fence in our raised veggie bed and keep them in there.  I know they would need a box or something to hide in.  Would we be able to eat the eggs too?

From what I've read not only should they not be kept outside unless you're in a warm climate but you cannot put them out uncaged as they will fly away and never come back. Quail aren't really domesticated the way chickens are.

You can eat their eggs.
