DD was throwing up frequently and I had her allergy tested and it came back positive for eggs. I also suspect banana and perhaps dairy allergy as well. I really need more ideas for what to feed her at this point. She needs mushy-ish food, as she still chokes and gags often. She LOVES rice and beans, but I want her to eat more variety. She is probably eating 90% BM for her diet right now. Any ideas for easy to digest, non-allergenic foods for 1 year olds? Thanks!

we're vegan, so no eggs or dairy, and dd goes through phases of liking and disliking bananas, so i agree, this isn't too difficult a task in my book! one thing that you might want to get is a vegan cookbook for baking recipes so you can make her muffins, breads, etc. my dd really likes baked goods, and they can be very highly nutrious. otherwise, for fats we do all sorts of plant fats... avacado, coconut, olive, tahini, pumpkin seed butter, etc. earth balance is a very good vegan margarine that comes in soy free and organic varieties. we eat tofu a lot too... soft tofu can be cooked to resemble a soft egg scramble, firm tofu has the consistency of cubed cheese... we love tofu here because it is so high in protein and can be flavoured so easily. i've been reading some threads about making coconut milk yogurt that i really want to try!                                                                                                                                                                                                        some of our favourite "soft" combos: little red lentils cooked with coconut milk, some greens and indian spices, sweet potato and squash baked in the oven with lots of olive oil and a little cinnamon or other spice, slightly pureed black bean soup, hummus on soft bread, polenta made with olive oil and finely diced or grated veggies, cooled and cubed, or served as mush, tofu scramble, oatmeal made with coconut or soymilk, with a drizzle of blackstrap molasses, any slightly pureed soup/stew with potato as the potato makes a really smooth mash that she loves to eat.

DD can handle chunks at this point, but when she couldn't, we'd take whatever we had for dinner and mix it up together and put through a little food mill. Things like chicken, brown rice, onions, and broccoli made her really happy!Â

How about sweet potato "fries"? I also like cooking carrot "sticks" until they're really really soft and tossing them in butter. DD did better with self-feeding food like that before she actually dealt OK with chunks in food.Â
