Wool and Snappi'ed prefolds

I'm wondering if I would be able to use snappi'ed prefolds under wool without causing damage to the wool. I'm also wondering if it's even worth it during the newborn days...you're suppose to wash wool everytime there's poop, aren't you?

I used this set up with my little one, probably starting around 2 months.  The snappies never damaged the wool, and i was using handmade wool covers (I say this cause I feel like hand knit is more fragile) You only have to wash when poop gets on the cover, which only happened a couple times with mine.  I really liked using wool.  Mine grew out of her covers, and I haven't had a chance to make ones in larger sizes.

I have no problems using snappis under interlock or other wool fabric, but the times i tried under hand knits i always wound up w problems.

You only have to wash if the poo escapes the dipe. Until i learned how to get a pf on properly though, we had leaks almost every time i used the pfs. YMMV

Snappid prefolds and wool are what DS wears most often - both bought covers and self-made. Never had a problem with snagging. I even have one handknit wool cover in a pattern that I've used since DS was born, and I've never bothered to sew Aplix on - I just Snappi the things closed and it works like a charm, and doesn't seem to have wrecked the covers.

I have been known to do a decent spot-clean on a wool cover if I can get away with it - saves doing a whole wash.

Thanks ladies! I have a ton of wool sweaters have been collecting from second-hand stores to make upcycled wool longies/shorties. I'm so glad it seems like prefolds and wool will work well together! I love wool for our toddler and with Baby Valentine coming in October the weather will be perfect for the wool.

I love snappied prefolds with woolies! With my son we used prefolds and wool right from the start. He looked so tiney in the soakers which fit him like shorties at the time. I only wash the wool when it gets poop on it which isn't too often when we use the 'newspaper roll' for the prefold (i think that's what it was called). It is simple and efficient and we have gotten away with the four dozen prefolds, four soakers, three shorties, three covers and three longies that I bought used before he was born. Granted the longies were a bit too long at first but now that he's six months old I'm starting to see his toes poke out;)
