OB or CNM Recommendation at Kaiser in Denver?

Hi there. I searched through the archives but didn't find any recent posts on this topic so I thought I'd start a new thread. My partner and I are newly pregnant and are planning a homebirth with a midwife. We have Kaiser insurance in Denver and will need to pick an OB or CNM with them in order to get ultrasounds and bloodwork. Do any of you have a recommendation for a Kaiser doctor or midwife (preferably at Franklin or Lakewood) who we can see once or twice during the pregnancy and who's more open to a natural approach to childbirth (and hopefully won't lecture us too much for choosing homebirth)? Thanks in advance!

I see a NP in Aurora, not a great location for you, but so far my experience with Kaiser and home birthing has been positive. In general the system is so big you kind of just get lost anyway! I see them for my initial lab work, which gets posted online so I can just print it out for the midwife, then I did the 20 week U/S and I wound up going back to see the NP because there was something of concern. She had a copy of the report all ready to go for me to show my midwives, I am going back for a followup U/S to hopefully verify everything is resolved and then do not plan to return to Kaiser unless I transfer during labor.

Not an answer to your specific question, but a positive co-relationship can be found with Kaiser and home birth. My pediatrician was awesome about it last time too (also Kaiser). I would just go see someone and if you don't like them ask for someone new. Or, you do not have to even tell them you intend to home birth... but I feel more comfortable being honest.

ETA: I have no idea if there is an OB assigned to me, I have only ever seen the NP through my last two pregnancies as well as for paps and mastitis.

Thank you so much for your reply.  Even though it's not a recommendation, it's hugely helpful for me to hear about others doing HB and going through Kaiser.  I think you're right that the size of Kaiser can be an advantage in situations like this.  Since I first posted, we had our first NP visit (which was unfortunately unpleasant) and we're meeting an OB in our next visit.  I'm glad to read that you were able to just pick the appointments you wanted.  I think after this next appointment (which will be at 13 weeks) we'll bow out until the 20 week ultrasound and hopefully not see them again.  I thought about just not telling them about doing a homebirth, but I'm like you, it makes me uncomfortable not to be honest with them.

I did get a recommendation from a coworker for the OB who is apparently pretty open to natural childbirth (don't know about home birth), so I might be able to recommend her in a couple weeks for anyone else who's looking.
