Our local IKEA nursing room is attached to a bathroom. Rather, the bathroom is attached to the nursing room - it is just one bathroom instead of stalls, so it makes me feel special that we have our own bathroom :-). As I have stated elsewhere, I don't do NIP because of personal reasons as well as having a distractible babe. I wouldn't mind such a room as you describe. You should see the nursing room at my city airport. It is teeeeeny. Compared to that?

Wanted to add that while it doesn't bother me that the room is near a bathroom in particular, it might be annoying/distracting to have every woman who needs to use the bathroom walk through the nursing room. If a mom is truly using the area for privacy, I can see how that might defeat the purpose.Â
This would be my biggest issue. I'm sure a bathroom in this place gets lots of traffic.
The best set up I've seen so far is at Disney, where the is also a play area for older siblings

here, in mothering rooms, they have playpens for siblings or for putting baby in while mom washes hands or whatever. i don't mind when there's a toilet as well bc i have the worst bladder known to man and will have to pee at some point. i do think it's nicer with NO toilet though and would appreciate music in the room (often you can hear what's going on outside if it's a busy place.) i like the babies r us rooms bc they're dimly lit and have change tables with everything you need to change baby in them.
