Vent -- Dr's comment

This is really not a big deal but I just have to get it off my chest...

 

Yesterday I went to my doctor. She walks in, asks "how's the baby" & I say "he's almost two!" & her response is "Oh, he's not a baby anymore! He's not nursing anymore, I hope!"

 

Grr!! Um, yes, he is. After a little "oh" she didn't say anything else other than to mention that she was adjusting my prescription accordingly.

 

Oh well... maybe she won't make such comments to her other patients in the future... But it's still bewildering how doctors across the board don't understand how nursing works as a longer-term relationship.

Wow, that was pretty much out of nowhere too. Most people wouldnt automatically think of nursing when they saw a LO. I think that is an absurd comment, and Im glad you told her that you are still nursing. Maybe she will think twice next time.
