Looking for other like minded people

I hope this is the right place to post this. 

I'm not a mom yet, but I plan to be in a few years. I'm just looking for other people in the Cordova, Collierville area. 

A little back ground about me. I'm 25, I've been living here for about two and a half years, I moved from ontario Canada to marry my husband. Up north I had quite a few friends who were into a lot of the same things as me, home birth, attachment parenting, greener living and such. Since moving here I've made a few friends, mostly ones that are my husbands friends though. And no one to really talk about the things that I'm interested in. My hubby is great but I don't think he always gets me. 

I'm just hoping there might be a few people to chat with, even just on here, that have similar view points. Just so I don't feel so alone. I still have my friends up in canada but they can't really advise me too much on things in the states and I'm hoping there might be a few others who have walked this road and have advice.

There are definitely a few like-minded moms (and moms-to-be) in the Memphis area. While I grew up here (Cordova), I have friends from all over. Obviously, midtown is the most "alterna" friendly area. I've met some like-minded folks by going to the Memphis Farmer's Market, and then I met another like-minded mom through MDC. You might meet some like-minded parents through here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/alternamamas/ While you're not a mom yet, it still might be a nice group to join. 

Of course, I'd be happy to meet for coffee sometime with you. Or, meet you at Shelby Farms for a walk. I'm very much an AP parent, no circ, no vax (learned the hard way there), and green living (trying to improve there as well). You might find a like-minded source with Jeff and Lindsay Carr at Natural Potential Chiropractic in Collierville. My DS and I see Lindsay while my husband sees Jeff. Jeff is a fellow Canadian (St John's if I remember correctly), and Lindsay is awesome. They are expecting their first child near June. Lindsay is very naturally-minded.
