thanks everyone for answering the QOTD . somehow it's a bit of a relief to see that there are other older gals on here. i was starting to feel like we'd missed the baby boat. and wow, max, krista, gelly and i are all the same age!
so does anyone have ideas for the next question?
krista -- yay for the donors! so you use both of them in the same cycle? we have another possible donor and are thinking about it too (just so that we can insem more, and also because donor #1 can be very bad with time). our one concern is that we won't know the paternity, and we'd at least like to offer the future kiddies the chance for contact.
gelly -- good luck with the insem tomorrow! when did you figure out that you don't release mature eggs? (was it after you'd started trying?) and have you been using the various drugs throughout the process?
cananny -- sounds like you and your partner are in a great place to start your family! i completely understand about the smoking thing. we both quit while we were preparing to TTC, but have had relapses at particularly difficult/emotional times.
sara -- wow, it sounds like this is your month! of course, reeeallly good chinese food is enough to bring anyone to tears . keeping my fingers crossed for that BFP.
kelly -- sending some super follie and uterine lining vibes your way! i agree about the dark chocolate. it's ubiquitous here in France, and i've especially come to love my two or three squares of Carte D'Or Noir with sesame seeds or pistachio pieces every night. not to mention wifey's scrumdiddlyumptious dark chocolate mousse....mmmm
max -- woot! here's hoping for a brilliant retrival on weds! what happens after they catch the eggies? do they fertilize them and put them back in right away? are you doing icsi? all crossable digits crossed for you!
crystal -- way to stay optimistic. you're a real trooper. i hope AF comes soon for you and that you can get back on track with TTC asap. i'm sure it's going to work out for you soon.
carmen -- we're using the monitors too...they're ever-so-useful. i'm on day 2, so i won't be testing for at least another five days. what kinds of shows does your DP do? i'm all for changes of scenery..it's good for the mind and the soul (even with a toddler in tow.) bon voyage!
afm -- i'm feeling pretty low at the moment, as AF was very very weird and only lasted for about a day (if you don't count the first day and third days of brown and pink "stuff"). this certainly can't be a good sign as far as my fertility goes. meanwhile DP's auditioning for the lead role in "the Red Tide". we've got an appointment with our gyn next week, and i'm hoping and praying she'll help us out instead of telling us to keep trying for another few months. i'd love to be able to see an RE and get medication (if needed), but i wonder if it's even possible given the legal issues of helping lesbians get pregnant. given our ages, time is of the essence..... i just hope it's not to late for either of us. in other news, we've decided to order the Instead Softcups, speculums and more preseed for the next try. anyone tried the softcups?
