Queer Conceptions: April 2011 - Keep the BFP's rollin' in! - Page 14

Gellybeangrl - while we always take symptoms with a pinch of salt, dp had pinchy cramping on her left side when we conceived ds2. Progesterone can cause all kinds of symptoms, uterine cramping being one. greensad.gif. Hopefully yours are for real!!!

I do know that clomid can also cause pregnancy symptoms, which is why we are discounting ours. we had 3 potential follicles which means natural progesterone and estrogen could be high - again a side effect of being on fertility drugs and not necessarily a symptom of pregnancy.

11dpo today. smile.gif

I'm still reading along, just no time to type.

Max, this is your month.  Keep laughing, since it's good for the babes.

Carmen, I used lambswool, I don't worry too much since there is a diaper between baby and most of the wool, but I recently was told that merino wool, cashmere (sp?) and alpaca are all good options.  I got a couple of merino sweaters at the thrift store for 2 bucks each, just went through every single tag.  I'm planning to turn those into longies, since it would touch lots of skin.  We are  nearing the end of sweater season, which is why I was shopping for them so recently.  Tho sweater season will return before the gator is out.  Oh, another soft soft option, that you don't have to lanolize is fleece.  I used lots of fleece with the older kids because It's easy to find, easy to sew with, easy to wash and soft.  In the last few years I have developed a love affair with wool, so I am making some wool stuff for this one.  There will be fleece stuff too.  I've been collecting fleece as long as I've been TTC.

Krista:  I can completely understand the frustration you are feeling.  We have one sister who was(is) indifferent about having children and she ended up with two of her own and two more through remarriage!  They joked once that they were running a 2-for-1 special if we were interested.  I laughed along at the time but DW and I talked later about how much it stung.

Isa:  Yesterday, I neglected to say how sorry I am about the BFN.

Indigoscot: All this talk of food is making me hungry!  Just a little bit longer ….

MaxK:  I am so sorry to hear about the remaining super heroes.  The ones inside you are what matter most and I have a good feeling about those guys and gal.

This particular shower was ok.  I don’t mean to sound discriminatory but it was a gay friend who has wanted a child for a lot longer than we have so it was actually encouraging to see her finally reach her goal.

Library:  I have to admit I am a little envious too – all that time at home.  It sounds like you are settling well into your routine and making the fullest of the time.

Gellybeangrl: FX that symptoms are a good sign.

Carmen:  Good luck with the testing.  Temping can be so frustrating sometimes!

AFM:  Patience (ugh) and more patience.  Unfortunately, we decided to do IVF just after missing our window of opportunity for that month.  AF should show up for DW by end of this week.  Then the cycle starts.  She will be on birth control for a few weeks and then the shots should begin mid-May.  I guess you could say I am in the 6WW until then….

Kelly: Congrats on the Google job. I love their campus and all the cool perks. I've done some meetings down there over the years and always try to cram a bunch of free Odwalla juices into my purse.

Max: still praying for you! Sorry the Justice Team didn't do you Justice but it just takes one solid one to make it so I'm thinking it's already in you and ready to rock n' roll.

AFM: had my u/s today. One lead follie on the left at 21.5 and a lining of 12. When we got pregnant it was one lead follie at 19 on the left and a lining of 7 so I'm feeling more positive today. The donors come out of the woodwork tonight. Let the inseminations in the back seat begin and Lord help me that my dog doesn't step on my face this time. (DP insists we bring her because it's a "family field trip.")

I'm home sick today with a cold so trying to limit my time on the computer, but wanted to say hi and thanks for all the kind words about my new job!  I'm joining Google's legal team, which I hope will lead to some serious job security since Google will probably never be out of litigation smile.gif

Gelly:  I think you said you were having some weird feelings on your left side.  Me too!  I'm only 4dpo but this morning I've had lots of twinges on the left, which is strange because both of my follies were on the right.  Weird.  I should probably chalk it up to the progesterone.  I hope you get your BFP on Easter!  That would be so cool!  And then a confirmation beta the next day :)

Krista:  Good luck tonight!  I love that your dog gets in on the action too, making it a true family affair lol.gif  Hope everything goes swimmingly; sounds like your follie and lining looked great!

Hi to everyone else!

Kelly—Hurray! Free food and a shuttle to work? That sounds like heaven!

Sara—how much are you trying to drink? Every time I try I get distracted and forget after a day or so…

Carmen—glad things are starting to smooth out in terms of your cycle matching your expectations. Are you trying this cycle? Or next?

Max—Positive! Hulk and Wonder Woman are having a great conversation in there—I imagine they’ll want to hang out for MONTHS just chatting away.

Gelly—that sounds like a good set of symptoms! FX!!

Indigo—FX for your DP, too! I hate the last few days of the wait. Hang in there!

Alpha—thanks! I’m ok—it’s just disappointing, yet again. But I’m feeling pretty chipper today—I think it’s not being on the progesterone. Apparently that stuff makes me sad and angry all the time. –sigh- I hope the 6WW goes by quickly!

Krista—good luck tonight! And I laughed about the family field trip. We have to have family couch time with ours every night or one of us gets distressed (sometimes it’s a human, sometimes it’s a hound). Hopefully your doggie will keep away from your face this time!

AFM—ordered the swim team for the next few rounds this afternoon—still waiting on AF, but she’s not scheduled until Thursday. Thanks for the info on IVF costs. I think we’re going to see me through to this first baby with my eggs regardless, and then for the next one we’ll re-evaluate and decide whether we want to pay to use DP’s eggs or just keep on with mine (assuming mine work, of course. If not, we’ll be on to hers once we figure that out). Hope you’re all having better weather than we have here in Chi!

Well shoot. I'm like a drive-by member :(

Partner never ovulated last month, so she was switched from clomid to femara. She had an ultrasound today (cd 12) and the nurse has let us know that partner has a follicle that looks ready to pop an egg today, but her endometrium is way too thin. We're waiting for a call from the doctor. This isn't looking like good news, though.

Gelly- Good to be cycle buddies with you. And much dust for an Easter Sunday BFP! dust.gif

Krista-
Good luck with the insem! Your numbers sound excellent! It makes me laugh to think of your previous story about your dog stepping on your face but I sure hope she doesn’t do it again! dust.gif

Maybeababy-
Sorry it doesn’t look good for this month but it I’m sure your month will come soon.

AFM- DP has been texting me jokes, which is really sweet. Still trying to stay positive! fingersx.gif

what works for us to drink so much water was we bought a big 64 ounce water jug for like 8.00 with a ice cube thing to keep water cold.. I hate water and have found this helping me soooo much!!!!!

DP has been drinking 64 ounces plus about another 20 ish :)

Next cycle, hopefully!

I called my doc yesterday for the results of the FSH and thyroid blood tests I had a couple of weeks ago and the receptionist said I had to come in for the results. It has me a bit freaked out because I used to get my hcg #s over the phone when pregnant with DD so I am automatically thinking something must be wrong if I have to come in. I've been so lucky in terms of never having any physical challenges with getting pregnant that I will not know how to deal with any problems! I am probably getting way ahead of myself here...I have an appointment on Thursday so hopefully she'll just tell me everything is fine.

In other news, it's my DPs birthday tomorrow so we are going on a day trip. DD had her first real stomach flu yesterday but it seems to have run it's course really quickly. She has basically nursed all day and night for 2 days though so I'm sure that can't be good for ovulation this cycle! ;)

Hay carmen ds still nurses a lot and all night so not a deal breaker

4 DPO.whistling.gif Nothing to report except for the fact that I am easily annoyed with DP….I contribute it to the stress I have had the past few days. I directed our school’s elementary spring musical last night (an Earth Day musical) and it was so adorable but I am so happy it is done. I now have MUCH less stress for the rest of the school year. Whew.

Isa—Sorry about the BFN…but glad to see you are moving on to the next cycle. Sperm ordered??

Krista—I hope everything went well yesterday!! Everything sounds very promising!

Smiling—I like your new smilie for your ticker. (How the heck do you spell smilie? Smily? It all looks so wrong!)

Seraf/EZ/Mami/Grace—How are you all feeling?

Kelly—Congrats on the new job! Sounds like some great perks! joy.gif

Alpha—6 week wait…oh man…I can barely handle the 2! (Although I just got done with an 8WW..) Taking the needed time off of actual trying is so hard…but I know it is all part of the process. Good luck!

Maybeababy—Sorry to hear about what is going on with you!

Library—How is baby Alice?

Indigo—I would have tested by now! I can’t help it…waiting 10 days is long enough for me…smile.gif

Carmen—Yea for TTC supplies!

Gelly—Sounds like great symptoms to me!

Cananny—Are you trying this cycle? I had one cycle that O was so late…and I was so nervous about it and afraid that I would miss it that I insemmed WAY too early…looking back, I shouldn’t have done it but it is nerve-wracking when everything feels so delayed..

12dpo today. New symptoms (in addition to the ones we already have) - peeing a lot, sore boobs, stretchy uterus feelings, constipation. Dp does not usually have sore boobs pre-af. She also does not have her usual skin break out.

Hey everyone~  This is most certainly the busiest of the boards. You ladies are a chatty lot ;)

Max~ I'm really sorry about the rest of the Justice League.  Forgive me if you've explained this before, but this isn't your only try, right? I mean, I'm sure this is your time (after all this waiting) but do you have the chance to try again in the future if necessary (or if siblings are in order)?   Still, you're only a few days from your veggie parade, I'm sure of it.

Indigo~ YUM!!!  I'm glad you're having fun and enjoying your visit and all the fab foods available to you.  I"m in need of a pint, I think. Maybe I can have some Guiness to help bring my milk in....

I'm not hitting every personal and I do apologize, but it's almost time for me to feed Miss Thing. She's a sweetheart, but was 'diagnosed' today as being a lazy eater (so true) so we've put her on a feeding schedule in order to stop this grazing from 7 pm to 4 am. It's going to be a long, brutal night with me withholding and keeping her to an every-three-hours routine, but hopefully she'll get the clue soon enough. She's not gained weight like she should (though she's not in danger) and the grazing all night is pretty much a nightmare, so we're going to try and sort that out.  Otherwise, she's the sweetest baby there ever was and I just love looking at her precious little face.  My dad's visit is going well. He's doing lots of house projects, so that's always useful.

More soon.  Luck and love to all xoxoxox

Hello everyone...just checking in.

7DPO~ nothing exciting happening here. No new symptoms, no sore boobies, no constipation for me (but I'm on Metformin so I don't think having that symptom would be possible) fwiw DW has some constipation. Today was hump day and I am happy that the weekend is almost here. I have to go to see Body Worlds at the museum of Science and Industry for my A & P class...so that will take up my Saturday...and then I will test on Sunday!

dust.gif to all my tww buddies Kelly/Lisa/MaxK/Krista ! How are you all faring...any new symptoms?!?

Library~ hope that project 'night nursing' goes well with baby Alice...bfinfant.gif...good luck!

Indigo~ those sound like great symptoms for your DP...when will you all test?!? fx for you all!

Cananny- Fingers crossed for you and DP that O comes soon and you get those swimmers in there! fingersx.gifdust.gif

Carmen- Keeping fingers crossed that everything is ok with you. fingersx.gif

Library-
Yes this is my last try. We have decided that and IVF is so expensive I don’t think we would do it again. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Wonder Woman.

AFM- My boobs are sore and I’m real irritable. I have the opposite of constipation. Of course this could be from the meds but I’m trying to stay positive and focus on Wonder Woman developing.
