Gelly- That is great we are cycle buddies even though we will have slightly different processes. OMG your little fur ball is so cute. We just got our little shark Ollie fixed yesterday. Oh, they grow up so fast.

Temping is good but it really helps when you are familiar with your cycle temps. I would say do it, the more signs you track the better. For example I started to see my temp would drop about CD11 and it would spike by CD12 or 13 meaning that is when I had already ovulated and your body is producing more progesterone.

2Mums~ Brill's book is a great place to start learning more about catching the egg!

Wehrli~ Thanks...he is such a cutie and he is so funny to watch and interact with.

Desert~ He is a chihuahua yorkie mix.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Hey ladies~ I've not been gone long but I'm already SO far behind!!

Gracie~ Congratulations!!  Here's hoping for a sticky bean!

Gelly~ Your pup is INSANELY cute!!!  Sid Vicious is the perfect name :)

Max~ How's it going? How much longer???

Lesbodoula~ How are you?  On track for a May try?

I'm sure I'm missing everyone and I do apologize, but you know I think about you all. Actually, we were discussing on the Q&P board how much we care about you wonderful ones, but how much we feel like we fall behind~ a problem which is only going to get worse as some of us actually birth these littleuns.  SO I've been delegated to say a couple of things~ most especially that we're lurking and caring and paying attention even when we don't post, and secondly, when/if there's a question anyone would like posted to a general group, please post it to the 'big board' in its own thread and not just here?    I hope we're not stepping on any toes or being high and mighty, but we just wanted to make sure no one thinks we're just jumping ship. xoxox

No fab news here. The Med Faire was fun. I didn't dress up, but I enjoyed a wide variety of corseted maidens with soon-to-be-sunburned bosoms. My Indian Taco was dee-licious and served to me by roller derby girls, so it was a double win.  Today DP and I got pedicures and it's nice to have my talons under control.   Still trying to finish the last curtain and have the nursery be complete.

Much luck and love to you all, especially those I've neglected. xoxo

Gracie: Congrats! Stick, bean, stick! joy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gifjoy.gif

Library--I was reading that discussion over on Q&P, but wasn't sure I should say anything over there. I guess my thoughts on the whole thing are that we know you're lurking (kind of like you know we are) and that we EXPECT you're all busy/tired/overwhelmed. This board moves so fast and people are always having different things happen that there's no way everyone could keep up and comment on it all (well, except for you, but you're special smile.gif ), especially when you have such a finite period of time to get ready to welcome a new baby and still need to balance the rest of your life. I love it when people who used to be here pop back over to say hi or answer a question, but I think it's a good plan that if we're looking for advice from everyone we could post it on the main board. I'm also not sure if it's appropriate to be posting over on Q&P directly if we have a question, but I haven't really had a reason to want to yet, so maybe that would be fine.

Gelly--Oh, he is SOOOO cute! Everyone is getting the best little beasties around here! DP and I were talking today about how we wish we could all get together for some sort of doggie party, but I don't think ours would like to fly, and our house isn't big enough to host. I can't decide whether the belly shot or the one with the shoe (for scale?) is better, but they're both adorable.

Want2b--I love your Aussie expressions! My friends would always talk about being '____ as', but it's been a long time since I've heard anyone use the expression. Made me smile. I'm sorry that this wasn't your month--I think that starting to pay attention to all of the different signals (temp, cervical mucous, OPKs, etc) can really help you feel like you know what to expect with your body.

AFM--spent most of the day in my mom's basement basting a quilt and listening to her dish the dirt on my great aunties while DP interviewed my dad for a class project. We had lots of notes to compare on the ride home! We got the trigger shot and progesterone suppositories (can I say how much I hope that I DON'T have to know what it's like to use those?) yesterday. Cervix is still firm, etc, so I think we'll be right on time to trigger Monday night.

Just chiming in to say...

Library~ I agree with Isa. I think lots of us read over in Q&P. I saw the discussion as well. I think we all want to support and encourage each other, but time is limited and it is very difficult to post to everyone. I think that it would be okay to post on the main board if there is a question that they would like everyone to answer.

I was so excited to find this thread, forgive me for introducing myself in the midst of it!

We are on TTC month #24.  Taking the month off to do all the test and stuff to prep for IVF, though it's unclear if we will get coverage at this point.

I think the two year mark is hitting me harder than I expected.  We also concieved one year ago this week, and lost that baby over the summer.  So I guess that's why I need a boost of support these days!!

BFN :(

But Af has not shown up yet for Kass.. so we will see in a day or so ...

On to try 4 :)

welcome Mumquest!!

Sorry cam fingers crossed

Welcome quest hope ifv does the trick and fingers crossed for insurance coverage
post #54 of 415

welcome mum!!

library - i also read over at q&p - just old habit i guess!  :)  but thanks so much for the sentiments.  having gone through pregnancy twice (one time with a 2yo), we know how tiring it gets towards the end and then how completely exhausted you are with a nb.

afu, first day poas for this cycle.  low fertility as expected but the estrogen line is lighter than this time last cycle.  dp is also already extremely HORNY, lol.  ;)  we are excited about our follicle scan tomorrow, whee!  :)

You ladies are the best!  For what it's worth, I don't think, nor do I think anyone else would think it's inappropriate for you to post in Q&P if you have something to say. It's not like it's a club and you can't join, or that we're more special than you. So yes, we'll all lurk and anyone can post anywhere they like. How about that!?  Anarchy! Smash the state! Free posting for everyone!!

As long as you know we love you xoxo

I'm back! Congrats to all of the BFPs! I can't believe how many have happened recently....and how many new people are on here as well! Welcome! I look forward to getting to know you all!

Max---Looking forward to the outcome of your threadkeeper's luck...smile.gif Will you please move to Waiting to O? I think I will be Oing around the 17th...

Sara--I will insemming with Mr. March! I ordered him on the 30th and they are storing him until the 15th...whoo hooo! (Any idea how they choose their 'featured donor'?)\

Crystal--I am really sorry to hear about your loss. hug2.gif If you are tracking, use the first day that you started bleeding as cycle day 1---I think you will go right back to your normal cycle soon since it was such an early loss. It is pretty amazing how bodies adjust... Hang in there!

Desert--The only time we avoided a Christian donor was one that stated that he wanted the receipents of his sperm to be strong Christians and to raise the child in a strict Christian household. This bothered me because it made me feel as though chances were very high that he would have a big problem knowing that we were gay--especially since he was a donor that wanted to meet his offspring...

Library--tick tock tick tock...how are you feeling??? it is getting so close!!!

Gelly--cute puppy!!! We are dog sitting a little guy right now that is about that size (we are used to big dogs so it is fun to have something so totally different) I think the colors in your rug, too. smile.gif

Isa--so excited for you! Fingers crossed for good insem on Tuesday!

Kelly--We might be insem buddies (or close to it...)! When do you think you will O?

Everyone I missed: wave.gif

So....today is our three year anniversary (from when we married at City Hall in Toronto). Not legal here in MI (obviously!) but maybe someday...or we will just have to move to Canada. smile.gif I finally completed my portfolio for my National Boards (SO much harder than any of my Master's classes...) which is a huge relief...I am hoping that I can stay pretty stress-free during this month (although i am producing and directing a musical on the 19th which is VERY stressful). My cycles have begun to get a bit shorter--I think this month I might be back to where I was at before the m/c...who knows though. I am SO ready to try again!

If you're interested~ I just posted (FINALLY) the nursery photos on Q&P.  Indigo, take a special look at the Dr. Who alphabet my sister made, I know you'll appreciate it the most.

Library~ Great pics...Very cute nursery! I love it.

Lisedea~ Thanks. We got the area rug at Kohl's...it came in several different sizes. Good luck with this month's insem and with "Mr. March"!

MumQuest~ Welcome.gif! This is a wonderful board of caring and compassionate women...feel free to ask anything that you like. Sorry to hear about your earlier loss.

Indigo~ good luck with the u/s tomorrow...!

Afm~ Today is CD5 for me, nothing much really going on. I'm still taking my injectables...follistem 225 ml a day...so far no side effects or anything. I go in on Thursday for my u/s to see how the follies are doing.

So, I recently got a new vehicle...this was my first week driving it to work. So one of the 'mean girls' at my job complimented me on it...and then to my friend later that day in the break room she 'mean girl' asked her, "How in the world can Gelly afford that vehicle? It is totally loaded!"  People can be so rude...instead of being happy for me because I got a new ride, she wants to go around trying to figure out how I could afford it. I want to say something to her...the mean girl, but I just don't know what to say. For some reason she thinks that she is so much better than I am and that I couldn't possibly have anything...or maybe she thinks that I don't deserve anything, I'm not sure. I should just let it alone.

My RE suggested that I apply for FMLA for the infertility treatments, which I did. I was denied. Even though ever thing is supposed to be confidential I think that the FMLA rep told my acting manager "Mean Girl #1" why I was missing work for Dr's appointments. (Mind you I have the leave time on the books so it's not like I am getting over with anything.) I can't prove it...I just have to wait for her to slip up and say something to me. I really hope that this is our month...so that I don't have to deal with asking off of work. Once I am preggo I don't think that they can deny me the FMLA.

Library—your nursery is fab! My favorite alphabet also has D is for Dalek. DP doesn't like it, so I may never be able to put it up, which makes me happy that someone out there has a Dr. Who alphabet wallhanging! The chaise lounge looks like something I’d never want to leave…
Mumquest—welcome! It sounds like you’ve been having a hard time—I’m so sorry for your loss, and the difficulties you’ve been dealing with. I’m glad you found us, although I hope you’ll get coverage and be out of here in no time and over to queer and pregnant!
Cananny—sorry about the BFN—still hopeful for you!!
Indigo—yay for your scan! smile.gif
Lise—what a weird thing for a donor to say. I mean, no one would stipulate that their donor offspring only be raised vegan, or say that they could never go on rollercoasters because he didn’t like them, right? I would have avoided him, too. Welcome back! I hope you’re right on track for this cycle!
Gelly—oh, no! I thought with Library on leave we’d be free of the mean girls! I’d ignore the stuff about your car—that’s pretty much just jealousy. The FMLA definitely and totally sucks, but as long as you have leave for it I’d let it go, too. If your company qualifies for FMLA they can’t do anything about you taking leave when you are having the baby (even if it was your wife having it I think Obama just said pretty explicitly that you would still qualify). Here’s hoping she has an epiphany and decides to change her nasty ways!
AFM—worrying that I’m going to ovulate on my own tomorrow and miss my chance, but there’s nothing I can do about it either way, so I’m trying to be zen.

Gracie: broc1.gifcarrot.gifbanana.gifbroc1.gifcarrot.gifbanana.gifbroc1.gifcarrot.gifbanana.gifbroc1.gifcarrot.gifbanana.gifbroc1.gifcarrot.gifbanana.gifbroc1.gifcarrot.gifbanana.gifbroc1.gifcarrot.gifbanana.gifbroc1.gifcarrot.gifbanana.gif   broc1.gifcarrot.gifbanana.gif (is that enough veggies for you? I can do more, but leave out the chocolate for you) Thats the best news yet! congrats to you and your little guy!

Gelly: ADORABLE puppy! broc1.gifbanana.gifcarrot.gif for your little guy!

Cananny: I'm so sorry about the BFN, but AF isn't here yet and she knows her ugly face isn't welcome anymore! FX for you girlie!

Indigo: Any new baby pics yet?! Hope your DP gets her positive soon so its time to insem before your lovely trip! So excited for you guys.

Carmen: How are things with you guys?!

Max: This is it! This is your month! I'm cheering you on girl! You can do it!

Library: You are too cute! Thanks for helping us to get our questions answered! You guys are loved by all of us non-graduates. Your nursery is adorable. Can't wait for the cat to be replaced by Aspi!

Mum: Welcome.gif You and max are gonna hit it this month with IVF! There are lots of wonderful women here and we are all super excited for you to get pregnant with us!

Isa: How are your shots and things going?! Has your cervix softened up yet? (Is that okay to ask?! I have no idea if thats a TMI question or not...) Tomorrow isnt your day to o. It will happen Tuesday like you want it!

Lise: I'm SO glad you're using Mr. March with me. We pumped me full of three of our four vials of him. WHEN we both hit it this month, our babies must play together regularly! I'm going to be testing a mere few days after you insem, how fun! We have NO STINKIN CLUE how they pick their donors of the month. We thought they picked by who had lots of vials available, but that went out the window in Mr.Jan with Conrad, who Sara used. So we just don't know. I'd be interested to find out though. Were they so wonderful for you guys too?! I am in love with their whole operation I think (we will see if the sperm works or not as to how I feel about them winky.gif) My vials had 46 million in them and they were from April of 2010. Let me know what yours have, and when they were from, if you care to share.

How is everyone else? Kelly. Mami. everyone else.

AFM: I have lots to say. PLEASE move me to TWW. I'm slowly counting the days... We insemed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. When we went to insem last night, my cervix had dropped a bunch, closed and didn't want to be seen at all, so we called it good and decided I ovulated Saturday during the day (my mucus had also dried up by then) and that we hit it and covered with well with fridays insem. Oh I was a nervous mess about not hitting it and bothered Sara for DAYS about doing everything right and the plans for inseming.

We also told my parents when they visited yesterday that Sara is expecting. They were thrilled and then realized they were going to be grandparents and freaked about about being too young for that, even though they are older than Sara's mom. Then they asked if we had a crib, and I said "The baby is going to sleep with us". My dad freaked and said "A baby can't sleep in a bed with two adults". My mom told him to leave us alone. The day was filled with how to get someone pregnant and ultra sound questions. It sure went well and was very amusing! \

I feel much more chatty now that I'm actually trying and not just reading from the side lines.
