Preschool Curriculums??

Hi All,

My moms group has decided to start a preschool co-op for our 2 year olds next fall.  I'm in charge of researching curriculums.  Can you help?!

I'm looking for links to organizations that sell curriculums.  We're looking for something really professional, with a strong emphasis on socialization. Ideally we'd love to do something Montessori or Reggio Emillio inspired.

Anyone know of good references online?  Or organizations that rate or study them?

Thanks so much!!

littleacornlearning.com has the best preschool program IMHO it's waldorf based. they have 2 or 3 sample weeks up so you can take a look

If you are considering doing a Reggio inspired approach, you could base it on the seasons and lots of art. Are you thinking of doing the documentation portion of Reggio? Get the children engaged in meaningful activities and involve them in their community and the community in them. Sounds like a fun group!

Montessori approach- Again, engaging them in real life activities, is a great way to get started. You could purchase the Montessori albums, it would be a great investment. If you purchase the albums, you could work your way through the different activities through the year.

Right now, my 3 yr old is using plastic eggs to count to 12, a dozen.

I haven't used Little Acorn Learning but it looks great!

I've used both the Karen Tyler Montessori albums and the New Child Montessori albums for preschool homeschooling.  I love both of them.  NCM is good if you want everything laid out for you so that you know what you're doing on specific days (themes, etc.  But, you still follow the child in terms of giving lessons on the traditional montessori work.  NCM actually fills in the traditional montessori with some fun extra themed units--for example, last week we did snakes & turtles from our home state)
