Would calling the police non-emergency number and asking to have a patrol car swing by your house a couple of times tonight make you feel better?

Would they do that? I will call them.

I feel like a total nut. DH promised we will sleep with the bedroom door locked, a baseball bat next to his head and our dog in the room who will bark at any intruder. I already had him check all the windows and doors to make sure they are locked..

I honestly feel like a little kid again when my dad took me to see one of the stupid Halloween movies and I went back to my grandparents house to sleep and checked all the doors/windows and hid in my room awake all night jumping at every sound...

I'm not the only paranoid mama am I?

I don't do CL transactions at my house for this reason.  I always meet in a public space.  I even hauled a TV stand to a public parking lot to sell it.

ETA: Dahlia I'm sure you were just trying to be helpful but I'm already freaking out I won't ever be doing another CL transaction at the house again thats for sure.

There's nothing weird to me about a morbidly obese person wanting to do yoga with a Wii Fit, or about a guy freaking out over a dog. However, if his voice really bothered you, then I'd trust that feeling, to some extent. I think we have gut feelings for a reason, yk?  I'm not saying you need to freak out, but I don't think it's weird that something seemingly superficial (voice and manner of speaking) has caused such a strong reaction in you.

Sorry.  Just saying in the future it's something to think about.  But really, I doubt the guy is going to come back.
