Soaking oats - how much liquid?

I'm making granola. I'm soaking it overnight in an acidic solution (3 parts water to 1 part lemon juice). Tomorrow I'll add the rest of the ingredients and dehydrate. But how much liquid is needed? I don't want too much or the oats will be mushy and not make good granola. Currently I've got 6 cups oats with 1 cup lemonwater mixed in. The oats are damp. Is that enough or do they have to be really wet?

Damp is fine.  You don't want them too wet or it will take forever to dry out.  Good luck!

Great, thanks. So it's different than, say, beans - where you have to soak them in a bowl of water and then pour off the water afterward because it contains substances you wouldn't want to eat. Right?
