Hey guys! I did not mean to disappear on you, I promise! I have been busy celebrating Passover and hosting family - it was a great time but I didn't have a chance to sneak off to the computer like I thought I would. (Also, my house is covered in matzah crumbs. Total disaster area. To think it was sparkling a week and a half ago...) So I have lots of catching up to do...please bear with me! A belated happy Easter to all those who were celebrating!
Renavoo, thank you so much for all the information and support - so very helpful to me. What wonderful news about the endometrial biopsy - but seriously, could they have made getting good news any more stressful? Ugh. What a good thing that you found a better practice. You are 9dpo today, huh? I am fiercely thinking good thoughts in your direction!
Monkeyscience, any updates? I hear you on the difficulty of getting to those appointments - my RE is ~30 minutes drive from me and I have to be in for u/s and b/w by 9am. Luckily I have flexible/independent/part-time work and family support nearby, so someone can come be with DS usually when I have to go. Lately it feels like all I do is go back and up and down the highway! I have heard lots of different approaches as to when to trigger and it seems some REs wait for larger follicle sizes on medicated cycles, and depending on your history and whether you are doing iui, retrieval, etc.
Tantylynn, oh, that ache. I know it. It is very real and don't let anyone downplay it for you. Have you tried Maca root before, or is this your first cycle trying? I considered back when I thought I was just in extended LAM, but decided to try Vitex tea instead. Even with a high prolactin (and therefore low estrogen) level, I did get lots of cm (even ewcm, if I'm remembering correctly), almost as though I was about to o and get ppaf . Knowing my diagnosis, I now think it was the Vitex helping with cm, because I was definitely still not cycling. Hoping you get great results with Maca, pre-seed, and grapefruit juice (yum, love it but never buy it because of the price - I guess I have a pretty good excuse though). Thinking of you.
SweetBee, from your chart it definitely looks to me like you o'd - one more high temp and you'll be sure, but I think you can feel confident about it already. Fingers crossed!
Brichole, sending you hugs after your egg hunt disappointment. What is wrong with people sometimes? I just don't get it. They changed the time, without thinking that it would mean you couldn't come? Why is it okay for their convenience to trump consideration (and basic decency)?! Grrr.
LuluRoo, keep us posted! That o date is right around the corner!
AFM, I did the hcg trigger on Monday night ~10pm! That morning (cd17) I had a lead follicle (natural cycle) at 18mm. I'd gone in on cd12 (1 lead, 13mm) and cd14 (two leads, both ~14mm, one right behind the other). I was a little freaked out that there was so little growth between cd12 and cd14 but my RE said that was totally normal. (I usually have cycles that are 30 days, +/- day.) I am not all that squeamish about medical procedures, but I was a little nervous about giving myself the shot. I finally worked up to it and it was so painless, I am actually worried I did something wrong. I have checked the empty syringe at least 5 times just to convince myself that it's in my body. (Crazytown, I know.) I am pretty sure I am o'ing as I type, from the sensation! It's just over 36 hours so that's right on time.
So, 2 question about the hcg shot: (1) I took the shot at 10pm. At about 9am the next morning (just under 12 hours later) I did an opk, since my opks say to use FMU. The opk was very close to positive, but I would still call it negative. This morning (just under 36 hours post-trigger) the opk was clearly positive. Does anyone know if that is normal? I'm going to call the awesome nurse at my RE's office to ask, but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this.
(2) How did you count dpo with the hcg trigger? My RE told me to come back a week after the shot for progesterone, but if I could today as o day (because o usually happens a day and a half after the shot), than tomorrow (Thurs. 1/28) is 1dpo and Monday is only 5dpo, way to early for day 7 progesterone. And that also means that even if I give the hcg 14 days to get out of my system, I would be testing (hpt) at 12dpo. I wonder if the RE will just do a serial beta starting then? I wish I had cheapie tests, so I could use them to see when the hcg leaves my system. Maybe I should go order some!
