Charting to Avoid / Fertility Awareness - April - Page 2

My temp this morning was 37.2

While one data point means very little, since that is so much higher than all your previous data points, I'd say it's pretty likely that you are post O now, and you weren't before.  Day 26 would be peak day, and women usually ovulate within 3 days of peak day, so I'd say you're probably about 8-10 DPO right now.

That sounds reasonable to me too.

mommy2two, want me to link your chart so that you don't have to link to it again in the future?

Yes please that would be great.

Got it!  I think.  That's the first time I've tried to link like that.

I'm CD10 today too, we're cycle buddies!

Still continuing to kick myself for not doing a better job of charting this month. I have no idea when I actually oed or even if I did at all.

cd26 is a good guess but that would put me 15 dpo when I have only had 9 day lf since ds2 was born.

CD 41 now with no sign of AF.

Last cycle and the begining of this cycle I had a bad baldder infection with some kidney swelling. and DS2 is getting all 4 molars at once so he has not been sleeping and has been a nursing fiend. I am under stress right now trying to do school work.Tthis lack of a period is adding to it.

I have taken about 5 pregnancy tests all negative. I have been worried because I have a copper iud and I know if you do get prego with it it can cause complications right?

How long can I let this go on?

Looking at your chart, it looks like the latest you could have ovulated is CD 35 since the temps were all much higher after that.  Somewhere around then is actually possible since you had another mucus patch of less fertile mucus around then, and your cervix was high, even if it was firm and closed.  I would wait for at least 14 higher temperatures, and if you are still getting negative tests at that point, I would go in for a blood pregnancy test.

Your period will likely come in the meantime.  It sounds like you had a lot going on in this cycle, and this likely delayed ovulation.  It's also possible that your LP is lengthening out some.  Your concern is understandable, but there are still more reasons to believe that other explanations are more likely.  Keep us posted.

Okay, I am on DAY NINE of highly fertile eggwhite CM. GOBS of it for 9 days!! I am so sick of these super-long fertile times... so far since I started cycling again I have never had less than 5 days of very fertile EW (not including days and days of creamy before that) and usually it's around 7 days. I'm really trying to figure out if there's some sort of imbalance that can lead to too much EWCM.

My sister and her husband have been TTC for several years now and are very much wanting lots of babies but just can't get pregnant... I wish I could swap fertility with her! eyesroll.gif

Yikes that's a lot of EWCM!  But I'm not sure what causes it, or if there is a cause.  You aren't taking Mucinex or anything like that, are you?

Miss_honeyb, I'm having a similar problem with 3-5 week fertile periods. Thanks for the reminder to check out Marilyn Shannon's "Fertility Cycles and Nutrition" book again. I think she has some ideas in there.

Nope, not taking anything but a few vitamins/supplements. I know those mucus drugs can help give you more if you don't have much, but I haven't heard of what can give you LESS!!

Yeah, let me know if you come across something!!  DH and I are using condoms/withdrawal when I have creamy CM and abstaining when EW. It's too much abstaining. wink1.gif

Ok, so I'm still lurking and reading...just not charting :)

Do you drink green tea on a regular/daily basis? That also causes you to produce more EWCM. Taking a decongestant, like sudafed or anything else that's suppose to dry you up while sick should have a simialr affect on CM...however, even though you cause you CM to become a less fertile quality, does that mean you are in fact "less" fertile if you're still pre-o?

Just thought I would give an update.

Well still no AF and no positive tests either guess I just keep waiting.

Still waiting on an appointment to see a gyn. The one I originally wanted to see has a year long wait list !

That's a tough one. Looking just at temps, I think it is possible that you O'ed later than CD 26, but it's hard to say without them of course.  Do you think it could be your body getting used to the IUD?  I'm not sure what impact they have on cycles, but i guess it's reasonable to think there could be some effect.

Thanks JK

I have been trying to figure it out. Even if I oed cd 35/36 I would still be 12 DPO. I have normally only had a 9 day LF since having DS2 and an 11 Day is what I had when I got preggers with DS2.

Sorry DS2 wanted to help.

This is the first time I have had an IUD but I specifically chose the copper one thinking that it wouldnt mess with my body/ cycles.

mommy2two babies, I'm not sure what to tell you. However unlikely, it is possible that something changed and caused a longer LP this time. It is also quite possible that you could be pregnant, but it is still too early to show up on a urine test. I know that one of the ways that the copper IUD works is to prevent implantation, but I don't know if your period can be delayed at all by hormones produced by the blastocyst as it is trying to implant.  If this is the case, your period will probably come within the next few days... exactly what you've been thinking for 2 weeks now, but it's still true.

I don't know what happens if you actually get a baby to implant with an IUD in, but I can't imagine it would be good.  I do know that pregnancies that implant with IUD's are often ectopic because that is where the IUD cannot prevent them from implanting, so if you think you might be pregnant, you need to keep an eye out for signs of an ectopic pregnancy.  I'm not trying to scare you.  If discovered early, ectopic pregnancies are treatable without serious complications.  I just don't want you to ignore signs of what could become a very serious issue if you think you might be pregnant with an IUD.  If you are experiencing abdominal pain, you need to be seen right away.  Some ectopic pregnancies do not show up on urine tests as quickly because of reduced hormone levels.  If you get 21 days of high temperatures, that counts the same as a positive pregnancy test.  I don't recommend that you wait that long before being seen by a physician, but if you have to wait in line that long, you can be assured that you are pregnant even if you don't have a positive HPT.  This probably means very little to them, but if it were me, I'd ask for an ultrasound rather than a blood HCG test at that point.

Alright guys, I want to join. I’m mom to a 3YO, and not planning another. I’ve been CTA for 8 months, and sort of used the rhythm method on and off for a couple of years before. After I stumbled upon this thread, and realized how risky our method was, I started charting. My cycles are very regular, 27-29 days long, I always O on CD13-14, signs and temps are clear, etc.

But this month is different. I’m on CD19. My chart doesn’t show O, but my temps were really high Pre-o. Like normal LP temps. My temps now are in the LP range, but lower than my abnormally high temps earlier in the cycle. Last month was a bit odd as well, my temps went triphasic for the first time, and temps were higher than ever, and never really lowered to where they “should” have been this cycle.

I know that I really should have taken those pre-o temps that I missed, and it might be clearer, but I didn’t. Wishing I had now, lol.

Here’s my chart:BFPChart2.gif

Reasons I think I O’ed:

I always O on day 13 or 14.

LOTS of EWCM, which then dried up.

HSO cervix pre-(possible)O, LFC later

Reasons to think I didn’t:

These temps don’t confirm it at all.

I always break out from CD10 til O, this cycle I didn’t.

My boobs usually get much larger post-O, like nearly a whole cup size, and are really tender until AF. They are a bit tender now, but no bigger.

So, although my temps are high, should we assume I could still O and use protection? That really wouldn’t make sense, but I’m just so confused. Any idea what could make my cycle so weird?
