Charting to Avoid / Fertility Awareness - April - Page 3

I think those three missing temps make it impossible to say. You don't have enough pre-o temps to get an accurate CL.

I would not consider myself safe with that chart. Have you been getting readable charts? It looks like your last one was nice and clear!

Welcome MillieJane! You may have ovulated, but there is not enough information in your chart to confirm that. If you had more temps, we'd have more information, but I don't see a strong thermal shift, and you're still having creamy CM, which makes me wonder if you may not have ovulated. If you are not trying to get pregnant, you have to assume that you may ovulate yet and act accordingly.

Toolip- yes, my charts are always very clear. No guesswork. That's why this is so weird.

JMJ-  Probably 95% of my infertile time, I have creamy cm, including during spotting ending AF. Sticky & dry are rare, and not present in about half of my cycles. I know that's really weird, and when I was first learning about NFP I worried there was something wrong with me. But it's just what I'm used to now.

My pre-O temps usually range from 96.9-97.6, so it's just that they were so high this cycle it threw everything off. Had I not temped til day 12 or so, I would definitely assume I had O'ed. I even took an HPT cd8 or so, because my temps were still so high. I dunno. It's looking like I probably wont know until AF. shrug.gif What's another week or so? :)

MillieJane, I agree with Toolip and JMJ.  It sucks, but if you really don't want to be pg, I'd wait it out.

So ladies, a question for ya'll.  I've got CHs on my chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/320676  But it's technically three over five, not six.  Does that look good enough?

MillieJane, I've dealt with that before too, and it doesn't mean you didn't ovulate, but when you can't trust CM data as well, you need temp data to confirm O, and if you don't have that, you can't consider yourself infertile.

JustKate, According to TAONFP 4th Edition, you can shave one (or 2) of your pre-shift 6 and call yourself infertile when you have 4 days of dry-up + 3 days of thermal shift as long as at least one of the temps is .4 F (or .2 C) above your 2nd (or 3rd) highest of your pre-shift 6.  You are good to go by this evening.

Yes guys, I agree. Considering myself fertile until proven otherwise. :)

Hi everyone,

I am new to the site & to charting! I have very irregular cycles and Im trying to figure out why they are so crazy. Currently I am on CD 73. bawling.gif and hoping for AF to start (altho a BFP would be fine with me too! ). I have talked w/ my MW and the plan is to continue to chart for two full months and then go see her and figure out the next step. I recently started taking Vitex in hopes to jump start my cycles. We were TTC and now Im just trying to figure out what happens when with my body!

Here is my link to my chart!

Welcome RknOHMum!  I've had some long cycles too, and they are frustrating.  Your chart doesn't look like you have ovulated yet, so AF should be a little ways off.  Do you have any clues as to why this is happening?  When my cycles got insanely long, I cut out sugar, most bread, and processed foods, and my cycles normalized within a few months, and I was able to get pregnant.

At the end of March, before I started temping, I took some OPK's and they were +.  So I'm not sure if I O'ed then or if I just misread the OPK. (the darkness of the line needs to be exact from what I have read!) As far as why this is happening there are a few things that may contribute: I am overweight, I have never been regular, and lately yes I have noticed I have been eating more processed foods. I can see where that might have some to do with it. I should focus on it ! love.gif. Awhile ago my MW said I might have slight PCOS but w/o the infertility issue. Each time I have gotten pregnant, I can get pregnant within a year of having (random not TTC) unprotected sex. KWIM? I was researching again today and saw some correlation with thyroid issues & irregular cycles. Hmmm more to think about I guess! headscratch.gif Thanks for the suggestions!  stillheart.gif

OPK's are an inexact science.  The thing is that your body gears up to ovulate, and then sometimes something happens to keep you from ovulating.  All the signs will be there including EWCM and positive OPK's, but then it doesn't actually happen.  Temps are the best way (besides ultrasound) to tell that you did actually ovulate, and your temps here just look too low and bouncy to be post-O, not to mention the fact that nobody has 22 day LP's.  A 21 day LP means you're pregnant.

If you're bordering on PCOS, I would definitely look at cutting processed foods, sugars, and simple carbs as much as possible.  I'd hate to see your midwife have to prescribe something strong to restart your cycle if all you needed to do was cut the junk food.  After you do actually O, we'll have more information about your thyroid.  If the last 6 pre-O temps are really low, that's a sign of hypothyroid.  I love how charting can give you all this information on the health of your body.

I wouldn't want my MW to have to prescribe anything either! This is making me more aware of how my diet really does affect everything else. I knew it did and I ate SO great the last time I was PG & BF'ing. I just need to refocus on what I am putting into my body! And charting really is awesome! Why didn't I start it forever ago? lol I just made my appt for the beginning of June so I will DEF have two months worth of temping....or should I wait for three since Im taking Vitex as well? hummm headscratch.gif

I finally have an update as to what has been going on with my cycles.

I went to the doctors yesterday and they did blood work.

I am pregnant but we are not sure whre the iud went. The think it may have perforated my uterus and is somewhere in my abdomen.

Having ultrasounds to try to find it and they saw a baby of under 5 weeks gestation.

I am a bit shocked but I am warming up to the idea and just hoping that everything will be ok with the baby,

Congratulations, mommy2twobabes! Babies are such a blessing, even when they come into being in unusual circumstances. I hope everything gets worked out and that they find your IUD without it doing too much damage. Somewhere in your abdomen doesn't sound good.

Congrats!!  It is entirely possible that the IUD fell out in the, err, restroom.  This happened to a friend in my DDC--they never found hers and assume that it fell out undetected.  Her IUD baby was born perfectly healthy on New Year's Day.  I'm moving you over to "expecting" on the first page!

Dec 17th or there abouts I think.

I had a 3rd ultrasound today (Well 2nd but 2 different techs) they apparently found my iud in my cervix. Im not enirely convinced as it didnt look like an iud just a white line no t and 2 other techs missed in being right in my cervix???!!!

Now they want to remove the thing I am not 100% convinced is my iud with a high risk of miscarriage. very stressed. Everything in my body is screaming at me to not let them go digging in my cervix to find it.

Hugs to you.  How scary!  Don't be afraid to ask more questions and make your own decision.  Is there something you could do to get them to be more sure that they've really found it?  What are the risks of waiting?  Would it be safer for the baby now when s/he is smaller, or would it be safer when s/he is bigger?  You have a right to make an informed medical decision for yourself and your child.

How awful, mama.  I'm so sorry.  Is there any possibility that you could get a second opinion?  hug2.gif  Lots of hugs for you.  Keep us updated.

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been kinda absent this month - we went to a week long AMAZING unschooling conference and slept in so late I got out of the habit of temp taking - then when we got home the kids found my thermometer and decided to play with it lol - so I just bought a new one and should be back to charting tomorrow! :D
