Placental tear at 13 weeks?

A friend of mine had a placental tear occur Sunday-she was 13 weeks Monday. The baby is doing well currently and she was told to start with bedrest for a week, and continue to monitor.

She is being told that she could lose the baby at any time, and that there is no benefit to bedrest in terms of outcome, so is considering heading back to work. We have a fairly physical job that involves a lot of movement and standing for up to 12 hours a day. I can understand wanting to keep busy to be distracted mentally, but from the little I have read about this, bedrest is certainly recommended, and that there is a decent chance of a good outcome, but wanted to see what anyone else's experience/knowledge here was.

And for what it's worth, she and her DH were told they were basically infertile so this is pretty much a miracle baby for them. And I don't tHINK this is a financially driven decision either.

Thanks for anyone who cares to share their experience/knowledge!

No advice, per se, except that if your friends doctor wrote her off work for bedrest, she cannot go to work until she is released. Of course, she would have had to handed the doctor note to your employer. Hugs to your friend.
