So glad to see this list growing!

nicolian: My pregnant friend sent me that book! I am cracking it open this week. Oh, you put your birthday is the 36th of July. I was thinking damn, that IS late July! biggrinbounce.gif

jillybeans: Yay for your 1st boy! What do your girls and DH think? Are they excited? I like the name Reed. Oh, what is PTL risk?

TTMN: Yikes, I'm sorry you've been having a rough time. I'm glad you're feeling a little better nausea-wise at least. I'm so glad everything is ok with the baby. I'm interviewing midwives this week. Forgive my newbie questions but when you want/need an ultrasound they refer you to a doctor they are connected to? Or how does that work?

savah: Hi there! When will you get another ultrasound?

Hey Val! I might have to look into the Belly Band too due to bloat. I feel silly because it's so early but my work pants are like NO MA'AM. So cardigans have been hiding the unbuttoned-ness so far.

My work pants don't button, either sometimes, so I do the ponytail trick. =D

Gemmine - lol.gif oops! The 26th!

I'm not sure when I'll have to go back. I think it was somewhere around 32 weeks with DD. I'm really tempted to to make an appt. for a 3d ultrasound earlier though.

Gemmine - The belly band is FABULOUS!  I got mine at Target (it's the cheaper version), but it works fine for me.  For my work pants, I tuck it into my pants and just fold the top part over the top of my pants.  For my jeans, I fold it in half and wear both halves on top of the jeans (the heavier material of the jeans requires the double layer of the band, for me).  I've also heard of using a rubber band, or pony tail holder like TTCCorC mentioned.  Don't worry about it being so early, I've had my band for weeks and couldn't live without it!  I was happy to make it through the first trimester without having to buy new clothes.

Yikes. Woke up this morning with bad lower back and hip pain. Been walking like a zombie all morning. I wonder if I need to get new pillows for the bed (body pillow?). Did you guys go through this?

Whoa. Me too... and I thought no way, it's too early for this, I must have just slept funny.

I had some killer lower back/right hip pain earlier in the pregnancy.  I've been trying to work out more, and I'm very careful about how I sit now (always facing straight forward), and that seems to have helped.  Sleeping on my side with a pillow between my knees seemed to help - maybe that body pillow Gemmine mentioned would be a good idea!

I haven't started getting sore yet but I'm sure it's coming... I found a body pillow to be so comfy the last two times, later in the pregnancies.

Mummoth: Right! I'm like surely it's too early! But I thought that about not being able to button my pants and being extra-hungry too so fail on all fronts so far!

ValH: Yeah, I'm catching myself watching my posture when I sit. I have a bad habit of slouching forward and it's really uncomfortable now. I'll try the pillow between-the-knees. I put a pillow under the side of me that was on the bed (side-sleeper) and that helped a little bit but MAN! I work at a university so it's always a long walk to my office from the car and I'm thinking I might have to get a temporary handicapped sticker or something. The walk was brutal today.

nicolian: A body pillow sounds like HEAVEN right now.

I randomly get knock me over back pain where I have to go lay on a hard surface for like, 30 minutes. It's weird.

My first EVER appointment is Friday. I'm still convinced I'm going to go in there and he's going to tell me I'm crazy. BLAH.

My nausea is getting harder and harder to keep down. Sometimes it hits me out of nowhere and I really have to concentrate to keep it down. I have yet to puke and I'm 8w3d. *Crosses fingers*

I have noticed my attitude is getting better. Maybe it's because I'm in the home stretch of the first trimester, my hormones are finally calming down.

No way you could be crazy if you're feeling that sick, TTCoC!!

I know. I know. I know.

But it's still SO surreal to me. Like, I legit thought I'd be going through fertility treatments and stuff to get where I am.

TTCCoC: Friday's so close! Yaaaay I'm so excited!

Today, I'm going to a practice that has doctors and midwives. If you want to see a midwife, you have to go to their orientation first to see if they're a good fit for you so that's what I'm attending. If you like them, you make an appointment. They only do hospital births. Next week I'm meeting with a homebirth midwife (CNM). TTCCoC it actually makes me feel better that your 1st appt is this week because I was freaking out that everyone keeps asking "When are you going to the doctor?" and I probably won't have an official appointment for at least 1 more week. I'm just taking the prenatals I've had for months and bought some DHA supplements last night...twiddling my thumbs until then.

Prenatals question: I keep hearing people complain about the taste. I had been just downing mine with water, like any other pill. Are you supposed to chew the hard ones or can you still get the nutrients taking it whole...your body breaks the pill down right?

I swallow mine whole, so I sure hope so. LOL

Gemmine - I think it's normal to have appointments late.  My first appointment wasn't until 9 weeks.  As for the prenatals, the ones I take are intended to take whole.  I'm also doing the DHA supplement.

TTCorC - Can't wait to hear the update from your appointment!

So I wore my maternity pants to work for the first time today.  They are so stinking comfortable!  My only complaint is that it shows off my belly - which is great, but my belly isn't big enough to look pregnant yet, so I look like I have a beer belly or something.  Oh, well, they are too comfy for me to care what people think.

I also think I'm being hormonal today... MIL is seriously annoying me.  I'm so hungry, but she's cooking something in the kitchen so I'm refusing to go get something to eat.  I'm mainly just annoyed by the dirty kitchen, dishes I'll have to rewash, and huge chunk of meat that is sitting unwrapped in my fridge (and I'm a vegetarian... couldn't you throw some saran wrap on that?).  I'll completely scrub the kitchen in antibacterial wipes soon, and wash all the dishes in scalding water, and take care of the meat, but now I'm just keeping my distance.

Oh, gross, Val. I'm veg too and that would not fly here. Bleh!

I puked today!!! YAYYY!!! =D I was walking on eggshells all day I was so nauseous. I looked at DH at some point and was like, "F*** THIS! I'm tired of being nauseous." I went to the bathroom, looked at the toilet bowl water and bammm. That easy!!! WOO!!! =D DH started giggling like a little kid saying, "You're pregnant!!!" Hahahahahahaha.

How pathetic are we??? LOL!

My appointment is getting so ridiculously close, I'm freaking out.

TTCCorC - Yay for puking... I guess!  :)
