Val and nicolian: Another veg here and yeah, GROSS. I had vegetable fried rice last weekend from this take-out place and there was a little piece of meat in there. It looked so shiny and disgusting. I lost my appetite.

TTCCoC: One more day! Yay for vomming (kind of)!

So I went to an orientation for people considering hospital midwives yesterday and it went pretty well. She answered all the questions and concerns I had. 2 little red flags were that she said breech=automatic C-section (but they offer to move the baby into the right position before) and that they recommend 1st time moms stay 2 nights in the hospital. I'm going to do more research on the breech thing because I know there are people who can deliver breech babies vaginally, I just don't know the risks. We're interviewing a homebirth midwife next week (all home visits, yay) and we'll make our decision then. I'll probably be shooting for an appointment at the end of April, when I'll be 8 weeks.

Oh! I got a belly band and a body pillow from Target last night. Haven't broken out the band yet because I threw on a skirt today, but MAN, THE BODY PILLOW?! Saved. My. Life.

How pathetic are we??? LOL!

My appointment is getting so ridiculously close, I'm freaking out.

LOL! Congrats, Vommer!

Gemmine - Ugh, don't you hate it when you find a piece of meat in your food from a restaurant?  There are several restaurants that I won't visit because of that issue.  They just aren't careful enough.  And yay for the belly band and body pillow!  I LOVE my belly band - I'm having to use it now to hold up maternity pants that are too big.  Haven't made the jump to the body pillow, but seriously considering it.

Another vegetarian here! I'm veg and so are my 2 dds. But dsd is not. She makes clam chowder and tuna fish, both of which smell like warm cat food to me. Blech! But I try not to show that it grosses me out....

We just got back from my parents and there is a week old container of leftover tuna in the fridge. It's sitting on the counter, taunting me. I am NOT looking forward to cleaning it out!!!

Excited for you about your appointment, TTCoC!

I started having sciatic nerve pain with my first and it never left. I'm pretty used to it by now. My biggest issue is that my hips are spreading (or whatever it is) and I walk funny! I look like I just got off a horse. Super cool.

I think someone (Val?) mentioned this lovely phase where you don't really look pregnant but just look like you need to lay off the beer. I'm right there. Beer gut and John Wayne walk. And I trip and fall down a lot. I don't think it gets any sexier than this.

13 weeks today and my pants are just now starting to feel too tight when I sit. Weird, huh?

((hugs)) TTMN. And a little bit of a giggle too. ;)

I'm not a vegetarian but this baby is.

I used to eat meat with every meal (Sorry if I'm grossing you guys out, LOL!!!), but this baby won't allow it. I can't eat fresh meat AT ALL. I get nauseous and totally lose my appetite. It's made cooking very interesting, to say the least. I can eat frozen meat (Oven cooked) and fast food meat, but not fresh, grill or stove cooked meat. Weird, right?

And thanks for not calling me crazy, ladies. =D I vommed again this morning. =D =D =D That's two days in a row. The fact that my symptoms are getting "worse" makes me feel AWESOME.

I can't wait to go to the doctor tomorrow and see our little spawn. Hehehe. I'll be posting AS SOON as I get home (With a picture if I get one), so be prepared. Ohhh, yeahhh.

I was the same way with my first pregnancy, Nicole. I definitely couldn't cook meat! *barf* And, at the time, I ate meat at almost every meal myself.

TTMN & TTCCorC - Thanks for reassuring me I'm not the only one that may be getting the "did she gain weight" looks... ugh!  DH was rubbing my belly and saying how I looked pregnant this morning... I told him I didn't look pregnant, I look like I've been partying it up a bit too often.  I don't have the John Wayne walk yet, though... that gives me something new to look forward to... lol!

TTCorC - Can't wait to hear your doctor's appointment update!!

Doctor's appointment was lame. LOL!

I did my bloodwork/pee test, did our medical history... He did a pap smear (I was due for one anyways), talked to me about what to expect... Then told me I wouldn't get to hear a heartbeat or see the baby until our next appointment. =( Since neither of us have any kind of negative family history at all, he didn't deem it necessary. LAME. However, whenever he did my exam, he felt my cervix and it was nice and closed and "big". And "big is normal". LOL! So that made me feel a little better.

Val-Threw on the belly band today for Casual Friday at work with my jeans and I'm pretty impressed!

TTMN: Blech! Even before I went veg I never liked seafood; the smell alone always deterred me. Sending rose-scented tuna-leftover cleaning out vibes to you!

TTCCoC: I generally don't get grossed out by meat if someone else is eating it but I get grossed out when there is meat where it isn't "supposed" to be meat if that makes sense. Like, in my take-out or in my kitchen LOL

Well slight boo for boring appointment but yay for vomming and your big ol' cervix!

Gemmine, that last sentence just cracked me right up!

I'm going to my sisters tomorrow and we're doing a swap. She's giving me the prenatals that will expire before she's pregnant again and I'm giving her the HPT I better not ever need, and the damn Kahlua that wants me to drink it!

Damn Kahlua!

Boy, do we all sound...pregnant.  lol.gif

Currently I'm ever-so-slowly eating a bowl of yogurt with maple syrup and granola.  I can't wait till I'm back to my normal eat just about anything self.  I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be feeling better and more "eat-y" by the 23rd cuz that's when we're having our annual rib smokin' party for DH's birthday (he grew up in Memphis) and I'd love to be able to scarf down dry-rubbed smoked ribs, mac n' cheese (a la Barefoot Contessa), coleslaw, etc.

I've been contemplating busting out the maternity pants, but it feels too early...despite the fact that I have to wear my Bella Band with all my jeans and cords (except for my pair of Levi's 501 "boyfriend" jeans that I think were a bit too loose to begin with).  I'm not sure if I look any different now...I never lost the last 10-15 lbs of pregnancy weight from DS and it has been mostly concentrated in my hips/thighs and my mummy tummy.  Even before I was pregnant I felt like I looked pregnant by the time I went to bed each night.

I did buy some super cute baby clothes yesterday on zulily.com -- which, if you're not a member of, I highly recommend.  Boutique-quality baby/kid clothes at big discounts.  When DS was born it was the middle of summer, so not only did he almost never wear clothes, but his 0-3 stuff was for summer weather.  Not to mention that he was HUGE (9 lbs 7 oz) and a lot of 0-3 stuff wouldn't have fit him for very long, if at all.  So, I'm trying to prepare for a (hopefully somewhat smaller) late-fall babe who will need warmer 0-3 stuff.  The stuff I got yesterday was from a company called Sweet Peanut.  Kinda Zutano-esque.

Hey there all you ONE pregos.  I'll be 14 weeks on Monday and I don't have a bump either, just a fat.  I've been getting the tight pants problem too; all day Thursday I just felt sick and miserable wearing my pre-prego black jeans, the ones that fit so nicely a month or two ago.  Goodbye black jeans!  I got some jeans a size up that should have room to grow for at least a few weeks, and my pants that have elastic are still fine.

My baby-zone feels like a rock that sorta bounces if I move too fast or go over a bump in the car, and I am definitely feeling several varieties of round ligament pain now, the sharp pulls when I stand up too fast or cough, the dull aches and throbs from tight pants or sitting too long, etc.  Also, when I have to pee it starts to get really sore from all the extra pressure from things smooshed in there.  I'm still waiting on that alleged second-trimester burst of energy.

One improvement though is that I've started taking psyllium husk, which is a powder that turns into a slurry of gummy glob when mixed with water and is pretty vile to drink.  It gets better with practice though, and once I saw what it was doing for my digestion I was hooked!  If I keep up on my psyllium husk I feel ALMOST regular!  It's a miracle.

Oh man, I could go for some Kahlua right about now... I like to mix it into cold milk.  Yum yum.  I do take tiny (seriously!  the tiniest!!) sips of beer once in a while if DH has one open, but I think the Kahlua will have to wait until after the babe comes.

Oh yeah, and I am craving meat so bad.  I just want meat all the time.  This started only in the past week or two.  I was never a vegetarian, but I didn't eat that much meat in general, and I avoided all restaurant and nonlocal meat (still trying to do that), but as soon as I post this I'm going to the local store to get hamburger for spaghetti because carbs and cheese just aren't gonna cut it tonight.

Alright ladies, keep up the good work.

It's so nice seeing so many familiar names. My November DDC is kind of slow right now and I only know very few people in it. It's nice to feel like I'm in my unit here. Haha.

Has anyone looked at the ONE Thread in the TTC area this week? They had a BFP explosion. Seriously. I think they had more BFPs than I've ever seen at one time. It's been crazy!

We're having a beer pong party tonight. DH hasn't played in awhile, so he invited a bunch of people over. Beer pong with water and/or Dr. Pepper will be interesting. LOL It is fun seeing a bunch of crazy drunk people in sober eyes. It makes me wonder if that's how I acted... Which I'm sure it is. Hahaha.

That's about it. The baby was nice to me today. It shrunk the bloat just enough for me to pull out my jean shorts and wear them today! Woo!

Anyone want to post belly pics?!?!

I gotta say, never send a hungry pregnant woman to the grocery store if you want a reasonable selection of groceries.

*just came home with a bag full of meat and cake*

How 'bout...  "Never leave a pregnant woman who's in the first trimester home alone to make "dinner" for herself and her 2 1/2 year old."

Last night's dinner?  Cream of wheat and Trader Joe's veggie-flavored potato sticks (aka junk food).  Needless to say, DS was quite content.

Hi Everyone!!  I am so glad that someone made this thread here!  I was kind of sad that we didn't have one, and it was so hard to try to keep with the One thread when I was trying to get to know some people in my DDC (Which is like SOOOOO Huge!!)

Hello!  My name is Elizabeth, EDD Sept 14/11 after 7 months TTC with charting and OV strips.  This will be our third child (we are leaving the gender a surprise)

LOL!  I have like 2 and a half weeks till our 20 wk ultrasound.  Getting kind of excited about that, and trying to figure out if we will be able to attempt our first home birth... but our second son may have had shoulder dystocia so we are researching that....

Glad to recognize a few faces around here!
