BLW - when it comes out

We've been BLW here and there for a couple of months now. Until yesterday, DS pretty much only gagged and threw up anything that went past the middle of his tongue. But yesterday, he managed to move things around his mouth and swallow and open up for more. I was really proud of him. My question is, those chunks that he ingested hardly got chewed, is he going to have trouble pooing them out? I'm visualizing the chunks passing through his system and getting caught here and there and coming out looking like they went in and I'm worried it may be painful for DS to have a bowel movement. Is this ridiculous? How did your LOs do?

Although a lot of stuff comes out his butt looking just as it did going in his mouth, thus far DS has never seemed to have trouble or pain while pooing.

Believe me, you'll know if your baby's having a painful bowel movement.

I also offer water at every meal and throughout the day (in addition to BFing) just to make sure he's well hydrated and doesn't get constipated. He drinks quite a lot of it, so it feels like the best thing for him. You might want to try that just to be sure.

LOL yeah prepare for the weird poops! DD doesn't ever seemed to be bothered by it.

I agree with the other mommas.  It tends to come out very similar to the way it went in.  DS doesn't seem bothered in the least. I have noticed carrots and green beans seem especially bad.  Also, beware the "blue poop".  DS has very odd colored almost blueish poop when he eats blueberries, pomegranate, etc.  Have fun!  I love BLW!

Blue poop? That'll be something to look forward to. Thanks for all of your replies, DS pooped out the veggie chunks today, looking pretty much like how they went in, and he didn't seem to have any trouble getting them out.
