seeking eco-aware assisted living facility for my dad

I know its a long shot but thought I'd try here. We are looking for an assisted
living facility for my father who has dementia and so far I've toured one that
had a HEFTY dose of wall mounted spritzing air fresheners and spoke to another
one on the phone that cleans daily with bleach and Lysol. Depressing enough to
be putting one's family member into a facility but to not be able to tolerate
visiting him due to my chemical sensitivities is adding insult to injury.

Anyone aware of a facility on the north end of Baltimore or in Harford County
that is eco aware? I need a place that understands that air fresheners are bad
for us, that uses natural laundry products, and practices green cleaning.

Please pm me directly if you know of such a place. Thanks.

Barbara, wow.  Good luck; I am thinking you will not find it in a larger facility, unless it is some sort of special room or block in a larger retirement community.  Have you already called teh Md Dept. of Aging for recommendations?  Their office which helps find housinfg is here http://www.msa.md.gov/msa/mdmanual/10da/html/dasr.html

That's a nice idea. Sending your dad to an eco-friendly assisted living facility would help his health and recovery. I also suggest you to ask the Md Dept. regarding facility options.
