6 mo old changing his mind about solids?

Our son is about 6.5 mos old... for the first week after we intro'd solids he was all about it... went from a few spoonfuls to a full ounce or two a few times a day.  Then, suddenly, three days ago he stopped liking solids.  Period.  He's probably had a few spoonfuls in the last few days, and his poop which was beginning to solidify a little is back to  EBF style.

Is this something we should be concerned about?
My only guess as to what it could be is I've been home with him since Fri and my boobs are there and he just prefers that?

My daughter has definitely gone through cycles of liking and then having no interest in solids. Your baby is very young, I absolutely would not be worried yet.

The baby led weaners tag says Until one Food is for fun. But i`ve seen people say here on teh forums their children had little interest in solids until as last as 18 months and until then they got the bulk of nutrition from breastmilk. My son is a chubby babe and has little interest in solids, but I`m not overly worried. (except about what my in-laws are going to say about my extended breastfeeding).

It's deinitely true for us-- Cecilia is one in 3 days and still gets 99% of her nutrition from breastmilk.

Yes, most babies will have their interest in solids wane and increase with no reason...even into toddlerhood. Just go with it.... :) He's getting breastmilk so you should have no worries about any nutritional gaps, kwim?! Just keep offering and if he turns his nose at it, no big deal. My 7 month old will eat a ton one day, and then not want anything for a few days. Today, she just wants to eat everything...non-edible like my pen and my earrings today...lol!

Thanks ladies.  This is why I love this forum- the answer is usually "no problem!"

It's true! Sometimes we get so wrapped up in what other say is the right way/one way of doing things, and it prevents us from letting our babies just be babies!

My first did the same thing. She just decided that solids weren't for her. She really didn't start taking solids consistently until after 9 months other than cheerios and baby puffs here and there.

I assume you are doing purees? My DD stopped liking purees really quickly. 6.5 months was when we transitioned to BLW. Suddenly she was excited about solids again! Sure, she hardly got any of it into her mouth, but she really enjoys trying!

It's funny- on Monday he went back to liking food again, and yesterday ate about 3 oz.  Pretty crazy how these little ones change.  My husband and I discussed BLW but we don't want to go that road till our son has teeth- or at least tooth. For now, we're giving banana bits and such but mostly feeding puree.
