DH wants to wash 1wk-old's hair...gentlest option?

We live in dry dry Arizona.  My intuition tells me that any oil on her head is keeping her scalp healthy.  I am trying to hold him off but at some point he or my mom are going to insist so I want to be ready.    Any suggestions?

Just water, if possible, but if that's not "good" enough you could try a pH-balanced cleanser like Cetaphil. I have sensitive skin and that's what I use.
