Pain in breast?

I have been having a shooting pain in my left breast for a few weeks now. It comes and goes. Maybe lasts for 5 seconds.

My nipples are fine. Dd (13 months) is nursing normally. This was not happening before a few weeks ago??

I do remember this happening while dd1 was a nurser.

Am I getting an infection or something else.
Also, this may or may not be related, but AF is due any time now and my face is broken out and I've been a bit itchy (uh, down there).

Any ideas? Thanks!

Is it possible you're feeling 'let-down'?  I know when I feel it at random times, even when not actively nursing at the time, it can feel like a tingling painful sensation or sometimes a sharp pain.  I had no idea what it was with my first son.  All I knew was that it was really uncomfortable.  with my second son, a while ago, I was feeling let-down pretty much daily, then nothing for a while, then the occasional twinge now and then.  This may be all that it is, and it's perfectly normal.  I wouldn't be worried about an infection unless the pain lasts for longer or you can feel a hard area in your breast.

It could be, never thought about that. I only happened one time yesterday. I guess I was thinking maybe the start of thrush?
