Best online resources for toddlers just starting to hit/kick/spit when frustrated/mad?

I know it is pretty common toddler behavior for them to hit, kick, spit and throw things when they're mad or frustrated, but dd has been SO well-behaved up until now (2 yrs 4 months), it's really throwing me for a loop for her to say she's sorry and say that hitting is not nice, then do it again 20 min later right in our faces, clearly testing us.

I want to read more about this phase and what is normal, what to be concerned about, and how to best react to it (or not react).

What are your fave online resources for toddler behavior?

Can you think of a reason why she might be testing you on this? Is it an attention thing? Or in anger?

My daughter is younger, only 16 mo - but she is also really rough - slaps and biting mostly.

I really like the book "adventures in Discipline" because its a lot of advice from real moms. For me I will gently grab and hold her hands while saying "we use gentle hands, no hits" or if she is biting, remove her from the area (put her down off the bed/couch etc) and tell her "ouch, you hurt mommy when you bite" then maybe give an alternative "give mommy kisses" or "lets get you a cracker to bite"

I know how you feel - its super frustrating and there doesn't seem to be a real clear answer, just seems like something they have to grow out of. Really embarrassing when they are doing it to other peoples kids!
