Question about temperature

Just wondering if/when and how often you took your babies temp after birth? I know they should keep a 98 degree temp. Also, since I will be giving birth at the end of July when it is the hottest here (100's)  I am a little concerned if there is a chance the baby could be come over heated (we do not have air conditioning) Has that been an issue for anyone?

I have never taken my babies temp after birth or w/in days of birth. Most have been born in winter, three summer babies, but we have evap. I wouldn't, but don't overdress baby.

Ok I'm a first timer but I have seen a lot a people with thermometers on their list so has anyone else taken temps after birth??? I just gotta know!

We didn't take his temp after the birth.

It was REALLY hot when my youngest was a newborn, but he was fine. We dressed him in light clothing, let him lounge about in the nude, kept fans on, etc. He sweat a little but never overheated.
